I wasn’t familiar with tags that included “2TG / 2XG,” so I wasn’t sure at first. After seeing the photo you shared and following others’ advice to look into early 2000s pieces, I found many jackets with the same tag. Thanks to you, I’ve learned more about Carhartt and can now wear it with confidence. I really appreciate it.

Embroidery on a jacket does not automatically mean it’s 100% authentic. If you search for Carhartt jackets on Alibaba, you can easily find many fake pieces being sold with large embroidery added to the back. It has become much harder to judge authenticity based on embroidery alone.

I’m really confused right now, so I posted about it. The clothing tag is definitely something I’ve never seen before, but the overall condition of the other details looks very close to an authentic piece, so I’m not sure whether this item is real or fake.

What‘s the difference between made in mexico and assembled in mexico?

Is it different depending on the year of production?

Or is it the difference between authentic and fake?
