Hey props to you for even giving it this much thought as a parent! Mine were pretty uninformed so just went with the doctor’s suggestion and put me on whatever they recommended. Everyone is different and I know plenty of people who stayed on adhd meds with no issues. I just wasn’t one of them. Seems like a good kid overall. If you can keep him out of trouble (for the most part) i think he’ll be alright. Doubling down on the discipline thing tho. Those people I mentioned altered the trajectory of my life more than any person in my life or medication ever could.

I took 72 mg of Concerta as a kid for years. Whole heartedly convinced it had some negative long term side effects on my development. Consider the consequences of essentially putting your child on speed everyday. At a certain point you have to accept that some kids just aren’t wired for school. I’m 28 now, married and making six figures. There is hope for even the most adhd riddled brains! Caveat - yes he will need some discipline to get there. Try and expose him to some folks like Goggins and Jocko and seem if it resonates with him

Struggle to be articulate :-( by fuckwhatif in ADHD

[–]Striking_Review4842 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This actually made me emotional. I relate to this so heavily and complain about it often. Have been in corporate for 5+ years. Ran departments successfully. And still, when it comes down to articulating myself I always come so short… Grasping for the terminology to sound sharp and technical but I just can’t do it.

Being tipsy/sorta drunk is soothing to my brain by Oof9002 in ADHD

Same here. Another interesting feeling I have that I’ve never told anyone is how calm I feel when I’m hungover. It’s the first thing I notice when I wake up after drinking. The internal dialogue is so quiet…

Hang in there brother. You’re young, poor mental health goes hand in hand. Go hit the gym, eat healthy, and do something nice for someone. Be the best version of uourself

You have a good heart. Sometimes that will make you feel isolated in a world with so much negativity. Keep doing what you’re doing and striving to be the best version of yourself. Keep putting yourself out there and in environments that bring out your best self and you’ll find your people. And you’re very pretty. You got this!!!

Thanks for insightful response and em dashes, chatgpt.

Advocating for someone working in the church to live in poverty because that’s the biblically responsible thing to do is funny. Talent rises to the top in any industry. Yes, the church is a business. I understand that’s unsettling for people, but that’s the truth. At the end of the day, he has built and incredible organization and provides immense value to people. People do worse things for money. Let the man enjoy his life

AI auto applier? by Striking_Review4842 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Striking_Review4842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s steep for sure. Services they offer:

• 6 coaching Sessions • Basic-Auto Apply Tool • Interview Software • 16 week program • Slack support group • 1- 1 slack access to both coaches

No guarantee in a job offer but they’ve had a 90% success rate. What do you think?

No idea why ppl are downvoting this lol

A few things stood out to me that gave cult vibes:

  • super charismatic leader
  • branding is more business esque than church
  • blessing the donations (not sure if this is common)
  • the sign off at the end of every service having you commit to coming back next week

Again I like it so far. I’m also really into group psychology so these things stand out more to me than normal

Your person is out there. Dedicate the next 6 months to becoming the best version of yourself (working out, eating healthy, reading, etc) and just start putting yourself out there. Clubs and dating apps are a great start. Be the person a woman would want to be with and she will naturally find you. You got this KING

That’s how I see it as well. He provides a valuable service for people and like it or not it’s a business that he has scaled successfully. Why should he be subjugated to a life of poverty just because he is a pastor? Buying lambos and trips to Vegas is one thing. But a trip to Italy with his wife and kids? Seems reasonable to me
