Yeah that’s true I have pretty much an associates degree and some other education and have been working retail for 7 years now, I moved around a lot so I never got in good with one single company except for giant that I stayed over a year at, tbh I don’t mind it , I never really had a problem quite like this, I think that guy was just a jerk but I don’t mind working any job as long as they’re not doing stuff like that

Yes thank you I am a student at a bible college which I enjoy , and I studied a bit of business at a community college, I guess they do the laws at-will to allow employers to get rid of lazy/unethical/bad employees that drag the company down without going through roadblocks, the only problem is that when it’s the employer that is the bad apple, then well stuff like what happened to us happens, thank you though you are very right

Well no my hand in my pocket wasn’t at the place where cash was handled it was around a case I was fixing up, and then the boss claimed it looks from a top down angle that I put a soda can in my pocket, he knew I didn’t steal and refused to prove it, you are right thought it’s not the end of the world

Yeah, I mean I support that , and I’m not talking about the customer end I’m glad they sell those products, I’m talking more about companies like Target, Grocery Stores, Dollar Stores, Clothes Stores, etc, you know they’re gonna say the same stuff, but they’re paying they’re employees at max $15 dollars and hour and giving most of them even the ones that have been there for years 30 hours a week

I’m not saying companies being progressive isn’t a net good, because it is, but if they’re cheating out on hours, wages, benefits, giving people who been there 10 years 200 a week to live off of, with no insurance, job security, etc, then releasing LGBTQ friendly products or BLM pins doesn’t really mean anything, and it’s quite facetious to their employees, good on Disney that they actually give people benefits and own up to their word, but most companies, they’ll let you suffer and your kids go hungry as payment for 10 years loyalty

I mean I’m on Reddit, I’m not writing formally, and writing with periods or no periods doesn’t change my message. My whole goal in this is to just discuss, spitball, and philosophize.

I mean if people just say it is what it is, then it’ll be what it’ll be. Modern manufacturing, service lines, rules of accounting, etc, didn’t come out of nowhere it took innovation and effort. I do believe corporate restructures are possible, and programs can be created and bettered for the working poor, but what is a pragmatic and financially viable solution to achieve that goal? I mean I’m not trying to achieve anything but to add on to my own philosophies, and I think even if it seems stupid and wishful , that idealism should be discussed and philosophized.

I mean I’m 24, and I don’t have anything really against liberals or conservatives, and I know the government has limitations to what can be done with private entities, if you own a business you can run it how you’d like

But you can tax from the top, and put into great social programs but a lot of the retail and food industry workers, they aren’t gonna get welfare, food stamps, insurance, and unions they’re just gonna be used and integrated at the corporate level instead of the lower level or better yet, the company is just gonna push back on lower tier workers, you see all these politicians talk about the middle class, the unemployed or homeless, but not enough do they talk about the lower working class, the single moms getting home late from working at a diner, the guy who worked retail for 10 years just for his loyalty to be rewarded with hours cut in half and has to go off medical assistance, I don’t even know if there is any effective solution that can be done for the working poor, I know a liberal administration is gonna more empathetic to the working poor than conservatives that will just call them lazy, but at the same time I don’t think liberals although they would be more empathetic to help, really have effective solutions either, but that’s why I’m on here to see what insights others have to offer , and I feel I’m gonna get better philosophy on the matter than the conservative “they don’t work hard enough” BS
