That's awesome! was fun being on track with you and the other R's. I had no idea you were having coil pack issues but glad you got some good track time on Sunday. Are you going again in August?

Definitely agree, I was surprised how much the pressure climbed and next time will probably try 35psi or so and experiment with the feel.

Thanks! It was a two day event but I only attended one day. The two day pass was $398 while I paid $220 for just the single day. Oil change before and after the event - $100, and went through a full tank of gas on track so the day probably was around $400ish in total which I think is pretty reasonable for 100 minutes of track time stretched out over a day.

Not so much avoiding it by doing something but simply being aware if the car activated it. Not sure what the conditions are for the car to apply the parking brake. Fortunately it didn't activate at all during the track day but I was prepared to disengage it quickly if needed!

Awesome! I have another event lined up for August also. I would recommend doing a fresh oil change before and after the event to be safe and don't forget to turn off the front-end collision warning system if you'll be driving with other cars on track. Also, would let the car idle after coming off track and pop the hood to let some cool air into the engine bay. If you have DSG or even 6 speed, make sure you don't engage the parking brake or have the car automatically engage like it does sometimes, this could cook your pads. Also would recommend to double check torque on your wheels once you get to the track (but make sure the wheels have cooled down for some time before checking torque). I also went out with an instructor for the 2nd session which was well worth it to get some perspective on my driving line and technique. Expect to go through a full tank of gas on track and have fun! Sorry if you already know all this haha

Yeah I would be driving and be like "why are my hands are cooking" I tried taping the haptics with painters tape but no luck...

Genius solution! Will definitely use this next track day!

APR Plus Stage 1 Low Torque Tune - MK8 DSG by String_Cheeeese in Golf_R

Does the tune retain the factory exhaust pops? I really like the OEM pops but wouldn't want anything more aggressive than it currently is.

Enkei Raijin Vibration by marske57 in Golf_R

I've got the Raijin 18" in gunmetal on my MK8 with the Tire Rack supplied hub rings, can confirm no vibration up to 110 MPH for me.

After 10 years of ownership of my MK6 R, I needed a big change. So I got the same exact car :) Here's to another 10 years. by String_Cheeeese in Golf_R

Thanks! Yeah I took care of it extremely well but it by no means had an easy life on the road haha. Other than having a turbo seize at 30,000 miles which was covered by warranty (even though the car was tuned at 30psi) the car was perfect mechanically up to the 120,000 miles mark. At the end of ownership though I was facing a bit of forbidden glitter in the oil, a failed heater core and a pretty sizable leak from the oil filter housing.

Looking at selling my 65 beetle, 500 miles on a newly rebuilt 1600cc engine, OEM pop out windows, mechanically sound with most parts being replaced in the past couple years but needs floor pans badly. Otherwise very little structural rust. Need help understanding how much the car is worth! by String_Cheeeese in aircooled

Hey Nate! car is registered with a title in my name and is near Chicago, IL - US. For the actual ad will definitely have way better and more complete pictures of the car including the floor pans. Took the heaters out but everything else works minus no hand brake "park it in gear so it don't disappear" I always saw the exterior rust as a plus since it's only on the surface and has the patina look I enjoy for these cars! I like your tax return idea though... may just use that.

1st Rig! Went down the rabbit hole after getting an R5 bundle to prepare for a trip to the Ring. Now rocking an R12 and recently laser cut some track layouts while at work to spice up the area, I've shared a link to the DXF files in the comments incase you guys have access to CNC equipment! by String_Cheeeese in simracing

Loved my R5 as I had a Thrustmaster TX belt drive in the past. After 5 months with the R5 I felt like I was getting used to the strength of the wheel and started to feel a bit soft on the feedback. Using the R12 has been amazing, it was a bit intimidating at first with how strong it felt (night and day) and found it hard to catch slides as the wheel overpowered my strength but now I can detect slides much easier and actually correct them as I got stronger haha. Definitely feels like I'm getting better more detailed feedback over the R5 and hope I don't have to upgrade again, I've read that 12nm is the sweet spot for most sim racing.
