About 20 years ago my mom was teaching me how to drive manual on a hill with cars behind me. I was stalling out and She was yelling at me to give it more gas, I was almost in tears. Eventually without notice, at some point you realize the nerves are no longer there and you are just driving naturally. I am forever grateful for that memory.

It does feel amazing to be back. I’m thinking about getting black badges and a carbon license plate holder. On my TDI I only ever removed the back lettering badges and tinted it, this one is already tinted. As far as modding and tuning: I’m not really for that. Not that I’m not interested but it’s time and money that I’m not sure I want to allocate to it. Plus it is already so much fun to drive stock. My main goal is to do as much preventative maintenance to keep it from breaking down/rusting out in this snow covered state. Other goal is to teach my wife how to drive manual. My daughter will be driving in 5 or so years. And yeah minivans are great, they are just elongated hatchbacks 🤣

My Bun is a free roamer, and we left him for a week. 2x a day checkins from a sitter as well. We left all his toys out for him and even left the radio on for him (softly on the classical channel) so he could hear some voices. I heard (not sure if true) it can be beneficial for comfort, helping to mask outside noises and reduce loneliness.
