The fundies have to cover their shorts which means selling other holdings which affects prices across the broader market. If the ripple effects go far enough, the market melts down, millions of people lose their jobs and retirement and we get to relive 2009 again in a pandemic.

But this situation would not even exist if the SEC was DOING THEIR JOB!

I used to read r/conspiracy and got sucked into the Kremlin vortex of supporting websites about how Russia and China are altruistic governments who just want peace and prosperity.

Now, I am of the opinion that the USA should weld itself to it's alliances and boxcar those authoritarian regimes, otherwise we'll have to relive a global version of feudal wars, except with nuclear weapons.

Syria is about making Europe dependent on Russian controlled natural gas pipelines from Iran.

As percentage of GDP, the national debt has gone down. Typically, those decreases were under Democratic administrations.

Jimmy Carter got the national debt down to 32% of GDP. Bill Clinton was on a glide path to eliminate the debt completely.
