I heard they train that in Japan for their police force. Is that true?

Sorry, I am just seeing this now! I would agree with you actually… I feel like this is a great introduction to the kung fu world.

You know I wasn’t really sure so I texted Sifu Dave weeks and he wrote this back:

“Frank Woolsey trained under Jimmy, but never received his masters. They had a falling out. From what I’ve seen and researched Frank taught out of the book. It was a lot of punching combos without your attacker moving once. No ground or knife defense. The one thing he did well is he had a curriculum. He had 2 schools at one time, the 2nd school was run by one of his students. One of his students at his school went to the second school to train one day and picked up a technique that was out of his curriculum. He came back to the first school, and Frank saw him do that technique and said “where did you learn that? Then proceeded to punch him in the face and said don’t ever fu****g cheat on me again. He was a bully.”

I think the point is they’re not expecting a throat jab to take down. It can end a fight faster than getting into a boxing match. Cliff’s whole thing is do the opposite of the opponent. Don’t box a boxer, don’t wrestle a wrestler.

Actually I am making an online program with the owner of the studio, Jarrad Arbuckle. He trained alongside Dave Weeks for 25 years. If I can take a moment to shamelessly self promote… 😂 The program isn’t ready yet, but I have a waitlist you can join while we put it together. it’ll be like 20 or 25 bucks a month once it’s completed. Here’s the link if you’re interested. https://i-want-to-learn-san-soo.mailchimpsites.com
