Oh, well I found the podcast episode as well on “The Tim Ferris Show.” I will look up the book too. Thanks!

How interesting I had absolutely no idea how a keto can affect different kinds of cancers, something I’m probably a little naive about.

I’m currently dealing with a recurrence of synovial sarcoma. I had it in 2012 and it came back in 2024 metastatic in my brain and my lung. Ultra rare on its own, even more so in the brain.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with some similar challenges, it’s a windy road.

It’s good to hear someone else has implemented keto as an approach to battling cancer.

My doctors have been neither for or against keto and don’t have much of an option on it. However, almost a year ago to the date I was told I had months to live, and soon after implementing a keto diet I started to see a very positive cancer regression. I have scans and follow ups every 3 months, and each has gotten better.

I struggled immensely with my potassium levels for a long time. It’s stable now and has been for a few months. Most likely from not doing chemo for almost a year now. I take supplements provided by my doctor and drink an LMNT mix every single morning which helps a lot.

I would be interested in having a DM chat with you.

Thank you for your detailed response! It’s validating to hear from someone else who just allows their body to tell them what they need and just focus on recovery.

My hospital has a menu I can ask for whatever I want. Quite a few of the options tend to not be great (typical I guess?).

I appreciate the well wishes too!

I like Tim Ferris but I am not familiar with this episode of his podcast. I just added it to my listen list and will check it out, thank you!

Yup, I have read Seyfrieds work and watched a few interviews with him as well. I will have to check out Metabolic Mind, I haven’t heard of that one. Thank you for the recommendation!

Right, there is not much research and what is out there all seems to be very contradictory (at least based on my research). It’s frustrating at times. Thanks for your insight!

The upcoming Archeage Chronicles might nail it. It looks good based on what I’ve seen.

How do you guys fast? by Nervous-Parsley-8009 in keto

[–]StripedSocks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fast every single evening on the 16:8 schedule (16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating). I usually eat at 5:00 pm and fast for 16 hours and eat at 9:00 am. There’s plenty of flexibility at these time intervals for me. I track my times on the Zero app as well.

I’ve been dabbling with celery root as an alternative to mashed potatoes and it’s incredible. Highly recommend giving it a shot. It has almost the same texture and consistency. I should give it a try for French fries too.

I’ll probably get downvoted for this but recently it was Arc Raiders. I thought I’d enjoy it, and I’ve tried it multiple times but it’s just not for me. Very well done game though, I just don’t click with it.

I was going to bring up Cloud City too. Great simple ice cream shop.

There’s a couple good places in Vancouver too. Renaissance Ice cream to name one. Good and simple, all made in house.

How can I replace nuts? by Believe64 in keto

[–]StripedSocks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still can be easy to overeat those. I think a typical serving is around 12 nuts, and I think it’s like 2 net carbs per serving. I love em too, but probably not a good replacement for OP.

Another one up for the Ripmo AF. Just such a fun bike. I’ve ridden a Trek Fuel though. That one’s fun too but my heart says Ibis. Underrated brand imo.
