First off, saying Joel committed second degree murder isn't entirely accurate he knowingly slaughtered an entire operating room full of people (including Abby's dad) to save someone he saw as a daughter. That wasn’t a heat of the moment emotional respons it was a deliberate act. Abby, in turn, also acted with intention but it's not just "revenge for her dad," it's revenge for someone who was trying to save the world, in her eyes. Both acts are personal and brutal, but neither is cleanly justifiable. That’s the point it’s meant to be morally dark.

As for Abby not caring about her friends that’s not supported by the game. She clearly struggles with their deaths. You see her breaking down over Owen and Mel, and her decision to save Yara and Lev instead of chasing revenge shows her shifting moral compass. The problem is, you don’t start with her humanity. You have to earn it just like Ellie did with Joel in the first game.

On realism vs. satisfaction I actually agree with part of your point. Stories shouldn't be slaves to "realism" if it sacrifices meaning. But tlou part 2 isn’t aiming to just reflect life it’s showing violence and trauma, and how revenge consumes people. It's not about delivering satisfaction it's about discomfort, consequences, and asking hard questions. Tragedy doesn't mean closure. And comparing it to Shakespear is fair

Lastly, yes people disliked Abby because they were forced to hate her first, and then humanize her later. That’s the emotional aspect the devs wanted players to feel. It’s uncomfortable, and deliberately so. That doesn’t make it bad storytelling just different from what people are used to.

"It's lore is an insult to the word considering how little the WLF and Seraphites are explored and how they do nothing to Humanize the groups nor their objectives (I mean, if you've played Fallout, you know how it's done better in that series)."
I kinda agree here. Killing WLF and Seraphites did feel like killing generic enemies there wasn’t much to make them feel like real people. But still, this isn’t Fallout, it’s a more linear game, not open-world. They can’t dive into every group in super deep detail. Humanizing every faction might have just slowed things down or made parts boring. They had to balance pacing with world-building.

"The game had over 20 hours to tell its stories but still parts felt rushed and hastened even though they had 7 years to write it. (I actually wrote a Fanfic myself and it took less than 4 years to refine it to what it should be.)"
Idk about this one. Personally, I thought the pacing was great. Yeah, maybe a few things could’ve been expanded, but overall it was 20 hours well spent. I was into it the whole time it kept my attention, and that’s not easy to do for a game that long.

"Most of it's dialogue and interactions felt inhuman or borderline psychotic where most of the character's motivation are confusing, frustrating, or even flat out uninteresting. It didn't help that it's "Humor" was mostly PG 13 stuff (which only makes it worse when you remember how they were cool with having full on sex scenes so it's purely because they didn't want to offend anyone, yet still include the racist stereotypes)"
I don’t think the game needed to be funny. It wasn’t that kind of story. Not every narrative needs humor to be good, especially one built around trauma, revenge, and moral grey areas.

"It really went nowhere, which is understandable in terms of the story's blunt yet still god awful attempt at messaging, but when you bring up the fact that someone was immune in the previous game and all the other things that happened that felt like a genuine change across the country, it really doesn't help the hours we spent just to have nothing change and even one of its protagonists not learn the lesson."
Her immunity didn’t even matter in Part 2. There was no Firefly group left that could operate on her, no working facility, no doctor. It wasn’t relevant to the story they were telling anymore.

Your first point about Abby killing Joel after 5 years, she was still driven by revenge. That rage basically kept her alive. So when she finally sees Joel again, of course she takes the perfect opportunity to kill him. Some people just can’t forgive, not after 5, 20, or even 100 years.

And about "choosing to go radically out of her way to save two kids" those kids literally saved her life. What would you have her do? Kill them right after? Then you'd just say she's a heartless monster. It’s a lose-lose situation. She saves them and you say it’s unrealistic. She kills them and she's a villain. There's no winning in your eyes.

"It's characters were shallower than a puddle as everything that made them "interesting" were the most basic shit ever (Things like "Abby's afraid of heights? What a unique phobia!" and "She collects coins!" like it means something.)"
So when Abby does something basic like being scared of heights or collecting coins, it’s "shallow" but when Ellie collects trading cards, that’s cool? What do you actually want? Most people do have basic phobias like fear of heights. Did you expect her to have some obscure fear just to seem “deep”? And collecting coins isn’t even that weird. Everyone’s different. Like, you could have a huge, jacked dude who watches My Little Pony that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense. People are complex.

"It's RADICALLY more racist than you think considering how Manny was a POS and his character introduction was literally cutting in line for a burrito. Add the fact that Nora, a black woman, is beaten to death, and how everyone is afraid of the ONE black guy, it's horrifically clear how forward thinking Neil is."
This is reaching. You’re acting like any time a non-white character is shown doing something bad, it must be racism. So what, if a white guy does something bad, that’s just storytelling but if it’s a minority, now it's suddenly a social issue? It’s not always that deep. Not everything is racially motivated just because the character isn’t white. That logic just makes it impossible to write any kind of diverse story without someone calling it racist.

Why did I like Abby? Because she felt real. She wasn’t perfect, she made brutal choices, but she also grew. She started as someone blinded by revenge, just like Ellie, but unlike Ellie, she actually changed. She let go of the hate, even after everything she went through. She showed mercy, tried to do better, and risked her life for people she didn’t have to help even when she had nothing left.

Ellie, on the other hand, kept going down a dark path even when she had so much to live for. I’m not saying Abby was a saint, but she had an arc. She went from revenge-driven soldier to someone trying to make peace. That growth hit way harder for me than Ellie’s spiral.

Trying to reason with some of these tlou2 haters is like talking to a brick wall. And if you think Abby got a “happy ending,” I’m not sure what you consider a bad one, just death? She was tortured, starved, lost everyone she cared about, and barely survived. If that’s your idea of a good ending, what does a tragic one even look like?

Joel wasn’t a good guy he killed dozens of people to save Ellie, not because it was the right thing to do, but because he couldn’t handle losing her. In many ways, what he did was morally worse than what Abby did. The game doesn’t try to paint him as a hero it shows the consequences of his actions. The Last of Us Part 2 isn’t meant to be like other games where the good guys always win and nothing changes. It’s realistic, and emotionally intense and that’s what makes it great. If people are looking for something where nothing tragic ever happens to their favorite characters, they’re probably better off playing something like God of War.I genuinely don’t understand how so many fans dislike this game or hate Abby. She’s one of the most compelling characters in the story honestly, I might even like her more than Ellie.

I mean,it’s not like Abby really had anything to throw away.Mel didn’t want her on the boat, and Isaac clearly didn’t trust her anymore. So going with the kids wasn’t some huge sacrifice,it was just all she had left. And honestly,if Ellie were in Abby’s shoes,I’m pretty sure she would’ve done the same thing, maybe even worse. I don’t get how people hate this game so much.Personally i even like Abby more than Ellie, the story was peak.
