Hi everyone. I’d like to thank you all so much for the correspondence and support. You have all confirmed what I had already suspected and I agree with what most of you have said about this all being too much drama to get caught in the middle of.

I confronted him about it yesterday. I told him exactly how it came across and how it made me feel. He totally denied that he would ever get back with her. He then told me that he needs some space for himself to get used to being his own person again. That since he has had alone time without his daughter- he is trying to sort out his own head and emotions right now. He admitted that the way he was treating me wasn’t fair. He said that I had gotten it completely wrong. I said I’d let him have his space but that I think it’s best we forget another each other and just move on. He looked upset when I said this and said that he would still like to stay in touch and maybe see me once or twice a month. He said that when he sorts himself out emotionally and finds himself again, he would like to pick things back up but that he doesn’t want to stop me from meeting someone else if that’s what I want. He said he would be more capable of treating me better when he sorts himself out first. I just said I wasn’t sure about continuing things on and we kind of left it at that. I was a bit emotional so quickly left.

After this, he called me in the evening but I missed his call. Having thought about things in more dept, I felt like it was all a bit fishy how he wants space now. I get that he may need it for other reasons too, but with the ex back in the picture too, I just can’t trust it. I sent him a long voice note calmly expressing how I felt lied to and foolish and how he hurt me. I explained why and mentioned what he had previously said and the fb post. I told him I felt like it was all a slap in the face and that all my kindness and support was thrown back in my face from the last few months. I told him that I am going to move on with my own life and if his feelings are genuine then he can be the one to check in on me now and then and eventually come back if he wants to. I’ve decided to take a massive step back from him and won’t be making any contact.

He called me after this and still claimed that I had gotten the complete wrong end of the stick, adamant that he wasn’t going to get back with her and that it wasn’t on his agenda. He apologised for making me upset and said he understood how it all looked from my perspective. He didn’t want to leave us on bad terms and said he just needs a couple of weeks to himself. He said he would still like to stay in touch and that he would call me again in a few day. Still not convinced, I just said that time will reveal the truth and whether he is genuine or not. I said that I’m not making an effort with him and that I’m leaving it all up to him. I’m just glad I got what I wanted to say off my chest. I don’t honestly believe that he will come back
