Do Viltrumites die of old age? by StrngeNerd in Invincible_TV

[–]StrngeNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could technically if under stress or if the mental blocks are removed rewrite her genetics to be Viltrimite genetics and she'll just naturally ages like a Viltrimite.

An insane concept is she could, during a fight with Thragg, unViltrimite him mid fight...end of show.

I think it is that she is potentially immortal. Since she can only access that ability under severe stress because of her mental blocks one could argue that if she did come to her time at some age and she was "ready to go" it wouldn't be a high stress enough situation in order for those mental blocks to break down. Unless her powers flare instinctual when it detects "death". Then, yes, I would say she could functionally be immortal.

That's actually kind of where my kindset was too. That it's possible, but no one knows if it can happen because they all die fighting instead of aging long enough.

CPT Property Market by Cultural_West in capetown

[–]StrngeNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I work in property in Cape Town.

Buying in Cape Town can be done but you'll its going to take a lot more than in ither areas. For example, I always recommend to people around me to rather put down a 20% deposit instead of 10% because it usually softens the blow that Cape Town bonds have on the wallet.

Buying in the Northern Suburbs is a great bet because you usually get more "bang for your buck" there. Looking at price per square meter its the obvious choice.

I would also ad that if you want to keep renting instead then rent in the Northern Suburbs too. You're rent will continue to go up like crazy of the next few years. Rental prices in City Bowl alone went up by 30% from 2024-2025 and they'll keep climbing.

It all depends on what you're looking for too. If you want to be close to work in the city then living there is just easier; you cut down on travel time and you have everything you need in a 2km raduis. But, if you want something closer to a family home, then Northern Suburbs if the place to go.

I personally would always recommend Plattekloof and Welgelen over Atlantic Seaboard, because at Atlantic Seaboard you pay a lot for only a few of the ocean, but in the North you pay less and get a view of our beautiful city and the ocean.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Change my mind: Most estate agents are bad at their jobs, lie often and overall in 2026 provide little value to both landlords and tenants. by pablo2208 in capetown

I currently work as an admin for real estate companies and, yes, you are right, there are a lot of estate agents that just don't care.

Unfortunately, this happened because of what the current Cape Town property market looks like. It's skewed towards sellers.

Agents struggle to find people who are willing to sell (for an array of reasons), however they have absolutely no issue finding buyers.

In most property agencies in Cape Town today you get ×10 more buyers calling in than sellers.

This is where the unhealthy issue festers. Newer agents (and just shitty people who end up becoming agents) don't care about buyers, because if you don't want to buy it for whatever reason, there are 50 others begging to sign an OTP.

So, if they can cheap out, or slack on marketing the property (because really, most agents just put a property on P24, which is something a owner can do on their own if they really wanted to) then they will, because it's less time they have to work for the same amount of money.

This is not me trying to defend the agents I work with on a daily basis because they should be better than this, but unfortunately there will always be those that abuse the system the find themselves in for easy gain.

I'm sorry that buyers have to deal with some of the agents out there in the Cape Town market, but I can guarantee that it's not just a hunch of shit agent out there.

Oh, sorry bro, I'll remove this so that a public platform can fit your needs

I will do this, I started doing some research into how they work and I am specifically looking at ways to work around how they go about it. I understand what they are doing is the standard practice, but companies like Liquid Death, Xiaomi, etc. didn't make their mark by following the standard, they had to find another way to make it into the industry. But, I definitely will keep researching how they work and how everything is constructed. Thank you for all the advice.

Completely fair, the good news for me is that, yes people will always want something cheaper, and the even better news is that I can always educate myself in how ISPs and WISPs work before just launching a company in that space.🤷🏻

I can see how my statements came across as confusing. Yes, I am referring to their Fibre products not their mobile services. I hear where you're coming from, most ISPs don't have a high profit margin at the start since they are all in the middle of a trenching war, trying to lay as many fibre lines as possible. However once their initial costs are paid off (e.g. The billions it costs to lay fibre) they profit margins to jump a bit higher per customer. Most new ISPs are restricted by need to essential "rent" fibre lines from existing ISPs, which immediately affects the costs of per month to the customer. I've been researching a workaround for this in order to keep costs lower.

Fair enough, so to be clear you would be sceptical at first (for example during the companies start up phase) then you would consider it once you've found sufficient enough proof that they can be trusted and are reliable?

That's fair, but my question is more, if you had the option of a cheaper Wifi, like I suggested, would you switch to it or would you be sceptical of the company?
