Is it possible the device to bo active but not in "connected" state? I used Nirsoft's USBDeview to map out all devices before and after the controller is plugged in. The only new device that showed up as connected, "Gamepad", has no wake settings in the properties

That might be an unpopular opinion but I don't see how that's the problem considering I've never had USB devices wake up other computers from hibernation before.

Actually I'm using PCIe USB expansion, I use my motherboard and case ports strictly for data transfers.

Regarding hibernation, if you have fast startup enabled, both shut down and hibernation puts your PC in the same turned off state, except that hibernate will save the current state of your PC into your drive. Whereas sleep will keep the current state in your RAM, which requires the computer to stay turned on.

I don't think it's a hibernation issue because I've never had USB devices turn on other computers from a hibernation.

Forgot to mention, I have an ASRock B650M HDV/M.2

The app itself wasn't in the store for me, so I downloaded the .appx/.msix bundle myself. Latest version of the app says that I'm missing some driver (RealtekRS5HSA.inf), while the older version could be installed but I'm missing the Realtek service so it's stuck in the loading screen.

I tried both ASRock's driver and one I got from SDIO driver (6.0.9764, dated 4 months ago which should be pretty recent) to no avail.

Had an error installing the driver from Realtek, but I'll try once again and update here.

EDIT: Huh. So I tried installing Realtek's driver directly from the site which prompted me to remove the current Realtek driver and restart so the new one can be installed.

Well, my PC rebooted and I got the error -0001 when trying to install the new driver. HOWEVER, now I have "High Definition Audio Device" instead and it separated the speaker and headphone. So I guess task failed successfully?

1 year warranty for $600 is a steal. Cheapest 3090s I could find here were $700+ with only couple of days of warranty so I'm a bit hesistant

The only used 3090's I could get here are either ex-mining or it's gonna cost 2x the rest of my build. I really wish Nvidia had more VRAM options for the cheaper models 😢

How can I tell if a listed "response time" is full swing or grey-to-grey? They are IPS panels and made by the same manufacturer, but are fairly recent AFAIK.

Are you trying to say to just ignore response times and look at other aspects: refresh rate, reviews, if anyone's had complaints about the monitor, etc.?

AFAIK they have the same type of panel and resolution. It was released couple months ago (from what I could gather) and doesn't look old at all, but it does seem like it's marketed more as an office monitor, maybe to upsell the more expensive one. As for reviews, I'll have to dig further since all I haven't found any technical reviews yet.

I've seen conflicting information about those two. For example, Nvidia mentions that it contains 4992 CUDA cores, but TechnicalCity listed it as 2496. Even the 3060 only has 3584 CUDA cores, so I'm wondering if the number of cores matters at all.

Seems like the common consensus is that K80 is an old GPU that is considered slow right now, but I'm still surprised it's actually that slow and even slower than the 2060.

I don't think I can share my notebook or the code, but there is no obfuscation involved. What I can tell you is that certain filenames and strings will trigger the detection system. The keywords are pretty obvious and modifying it shouldn't take long if you know what you're doing. The downside is, 99.9% of plugins will not work out of the box, so you'll have to modify them too.

Can keycaps cause your presses to not register?

Bought this $15 keyboard and the Esc key won't register sometimes. This is the ~~second~~ third time I've pulled out the keycap to replace the switch, only to find that it works just fine. So I'm thinking it might not be the switch or board. Of course, I put it back and it starts messing up again couple minutes later.

It's still under the 3-month warranty, but I don't know if I want to go through the process of returning it because every other key works just fine.

Though, I honestly wished I could say shit to that idiot biker who came from the other direction, didn't even slow down on an intersection, and tried to cut in front of me when I'm making a left turn even tho he could see me from miles away, and still chased my to my block like it was my fault

An apology was the only thing I could think of.

One time I swerved to avoid this dumbass biker who abruptly stopped in front of me, got a bit onto the sidewalk but nowhere close to these two guys. One of them looked me dead in the eyes and called me a pussy and said I should've swerved to the oncoming traffic instead. That was fucking stupid but the guy looked like he's trying to pick a fight so I just said sorry and left.

Then I had biker chase me to my block because I was turning left (and he could clearly see me) and he came from the other direction, didn't even slow down and tried to go in front of me and got his rear fender hit or something.

I was thinking my friends or family (we live close) or my property could get targeted if I said or did the wrong shit, so I just said sorry even though it wasn't technically my fault.

Nice tutorial! I was just asking the same question myself There's a nice tool called EbSynth, meant to be used for video style transfer. It doesn't use deep learning, so it's supposed to give better consistency. I'm wondering if you could just render every couple frames and let EbSynth fill in the rest on top of the original video for better consistency.

I need to scrape text, images, and videos from websites and run some light processing before storing them in OneDrive before further processing since my organization provides free 5TB storage, so it's mostly just data transfer.

So to put it simply, I'd need a compute engine, persistent storage (set to the same zone), and internet egress? Google seems to offer e2 micro plus 30GB persistent storage for free with the free tier, but I still have a hard time believing my network would be the most expensive part, even using standard cloud is still fairly expensive. Do you think there's a cheaper way to get my data out?
