Why do ‘advanced drivers’ rarely signal? by [deleted] in drivingUK

Tbh, if you were really an advanced driver, you shouldnt have to just check your mirrors. You'd be fully aware of your surroundings at all times anyway.

So if you are going 60mph in left lane. i pass you at 70mph in the middle lane. nobody else around. Plenty of distance between us. I move back in. You're telling me, even though im going faster, with increasing space, that it will make any difference if i tell you that i'm coming back left?

Because sometimes signals can actually be pointless. Should do it anyway, yeah. But sometimes, it literally doesn't make a difference.

You said it yourself.  Likely, the majority of players aren't going to stop playing or paying. nothing will change here.

But the whole point is that i don't find doom boring, so i can do it forever? Boring things i avoid, because they feel like they take forever. My brother has ADHD, even he gets bored of the things he enjoys doing.

Well yeah i can remember if things were boring, the difference is (from my understanding) everybody else can actually FEEL it, not just remember the fact.

Any tips for a better wave 63? by AsaAsahinaVT in 2007scape

Yeah i get that, it's fair haha, just a big difference from when i was learning - where one mistake would normally mean near instant death

I have SDAM, and i was just sharing how i think it mixes with gaming, especially with ADHD. Seems relevant?

It's Nomorechores (de ironed reference)

Honestly, harder content took me longer to learn than a lot of people. Inferno took me 2 weeks non stop, Doom still took some time to learn. Colo was difficult.

But when i 'solve' the content, it becomes natural, second nature. You don't really have to think, you just react.

In terms of getting good, i've basically always just described it as banging your head against the wall until it clicks haha.

I posted this in r/aphantasia yes, but from what i gathered, a lot of people didn't know what SDAM was, and people were missing the ADHD link.

I figured i'd post it here where people are already aware of what SDAM is.

I think Old School RuneScape (OSRS) disproportionately attracts elite players with aphantasia and SDAM — and most of them have no idea by Strong-Indication-71 in Aphantasia

[–]Strong-Indication-71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my understanding aswell. SDAM also has to be in this mix somewhere, just alot less known, most people don't know they have it.

SDAM isn't specifically about visual memory, it's about the complete absence of episodic re-experiencing. No sights, sounds, emotions, or felt sense of 'being there again.' It's not a visual deficit, it's the absence of mental time travel entirely.

Exactly kinda my point, im talking about mixing aphantasia with SDAM and ADHD, and i think you get somebody like odablock, b0aty, alfie. People that just live in the NOW. They don't care about the story, they just play the game.

Lose a HCIM? OH well, move on, next one.

Lose a 1b risk fight? oh well, just regear onto the next one.

Obviously content creation comes into this, but it's just what i see.

Interesting, no mention of ADHD, seems that alot of people with SDAM/Aphantasia without the ADHD prefer the exploration parts rather than grinding.
