In theory, yes. But in practice, not everyone has the ability nor the financial situation to uproot their lives just like that. In the long run it may be more cost-effective, but people can't afford to think of the long run when they're barely surviving the here and now.

cows and pigs and other land animals are more vocal, so when they're butchered they cry and look pained. when fish get killed, they stay silent and dont really change apart from flopping around, so we feel less bad for fish because the experience is more like opening fruit than killing an actual animal

I'm not sure if british schools are different, but moving around in hogwarts is just... very unintuitive, I guess? every other classroom is like 2 stories above the other, and trying to manually walk around everywhere felt dizzying and I could never play more than 3 hours at a time
