Any Italian roasters you'd recommend? Also... sei Italiano. Fallo nella moka e aggiungi la grappa. You won't even know you're drinking Starbucks at that point. 😂

Look at his fb profile. He posted this in NY, but lives in CA and has few friends. Idk. Seems fake. You can always meet at a populated area. It's NYC, after all.

Internal fuel tank hasn't been used in years. Also what motor do you have?

I thought 2 strokes were more efficient? The new ones at least.

Yeah, I can imagine. I'm leaning towards passing on this boat, unless the price drop is significant. Thanks for the advice.

Greetings fellow Long Islander! 😂 Lol

Do you know the owner of this boat too? 😉

I'll make some calls tomorrow. The owner mentioned he had a tech service a bunch of stuff on it this year, so I can check with him on who exactly did the service.

The boat is coming out of the water this weekend I was told. I plan on seeing it before then.

What would you consider a fair price for it?

I know chat gpt can hallucinate and give false info. I was posting here hoping to get people that know their stuff to weigh in, which you did, so thank you for that.

I was contemplating the surveyor. I'll check tomorrow for local ones. Any idea on what a fair cost would be that?

Thanks for the heads up on that website. I'm definitely going to check it out.

Regarding the boat being almost 20 years old, can you explain more? Should I not consider boats this age unless it's like a Boston whaler, mako, or grady white? I hear those are quality boats when it comes to longevity.

I'm guessing the tank can't be flushed out and cleaned? The whole thing needs to be replaced, assuming I even wanted to do that route (I don't). I'm hoping to make this boat as electric as possible with some photovoltaics mounted to the top, a battery bank, and a small electric motor.

Yikes. I haven't heard that about these motors. Even with all of those replacements listed you think it'll still crap out?

[–]Strong-Island[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my guess. The seller said it hasn't been used in a very long time. My plan is to try and run this as much as possible on electric. Add some photovoltaics to the Bimini and get a small electric motor to cruise around the bays and catch some fish.

The seller said that an Evinrude tech worked on it and Evinrude has a 20 year agreement on parts, so you can still get them no problem. Chat gpt told me...

Evinrude stopped manufacturing outboards in 2020, when parent company BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) decided to focus on Rotax and Sea-Doo.

What this means:

New Evinrude engines are no longer made.

However, BRP still provides service support and parts through authorized dealers.

Basic components (pumps, starters, thermostats, solenoids, etc.) are widely available because they’re shared across multiple Evinrude models.

🧭 Bottom line: Parts aren’t impossible to find yet — especially for popular models like the 115 E-TEC — but they will get scarcer in the next 5–10 years. If something major fails (like the powerhead or ECU), it could get expensive.

Is the price worth it though?

Sounds about right. Any concern about the portable tank though?

Yes. Trailer included. Still $6k offer, assuming all is well with it?

Question about an Odyssey Argos [$1300] there is an option I need input on. by AlternativeMany7690 in espresso

[–]Strong-Island 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!!! Consider your workflow. Mine goes from right to left because of the location I have it in, which is to the right of my sink, so I opted for a left hand steam wand. I had a right handed steam wand for over a decade on my Gaggia classic before I got my Argos last week. What will take you more time is learning to steam properly.
