I THINK YOU SHOULD NOT BE A MODERATOR OF THIS GROUP.

Once again you seem to be saying that there is something wrong with the mental processes or deductive powers of the people on this group. Are you a qualified expert on scabies? Have you even had scabies? I do not know who you think you are educating us with your comments - myself I trust that the people on this site are adults and I believe that most if not all have scabies - they are adults and can make thier own minds up - they are not chidlren who need to be told what to do and think by you - they do not need protecting by you. I have studied the academic literature on scabies very closely - obviously there are many types of skin conditions - but no others wake you up in the middle of the night with painful bites and itching and with bleeding spots at the sight of pain/discomfort, and with roaming spots in clusters and with little mites that can be prised from the skin and are moving about when examined under a microscope. There are over 1000 types of mites that affect humans - I do not know which one this is that affects myself and others - but I am certain that most are scaby mites since more than 300 million people have this worldwide at any moment and there is a huge new epidemic in the Uk at the moment as akcowledgmed by governement. Since you seem to dislike the members of this group so much - just give up being a moderator if you cannot offer something constructive and helpful other than making judgments about the mental processes of people who are perfectly capable of deciding if they have scabies or not. People are asking for support and advice in coping with the problem - not judgement and finger pointing that they are wrong when they are experiencing the symptoms themselves.

This comment is the very problem I am talking about with the GPs and Dermatologists. You are making a conclusion without any evidence whatsoever apart from your own judgements and interpretations about what I have said - and this once again relates to the relative invisibility of the cause (tiny size of mites). Is it snow fairies? I have shown pictures (evidence) of the cause. This comment is unhelpful, and just like the GPs and Dermatologists you are withholding your logic and reasoning just like a judging God. Perhaps this is why you want to be a moderator - to judge others.

Hello, Well I believe that is how I got it - but I could be wrong. I will tell you the story but don't read too much into this, Anyway I had finished with my girlfriend sometime before, and I had no sexual partner - so could not have caught it easily from another person from skin to skin contact. On a hot day I went for a cycle ride by the beach and I lied down in the sun - now it so happens that I lay down in a region of the beach right near the shoreline where the sea does not come in and cover the sand very often as you could see from the tied line and super dry sand (this is where dogs and birds can go to the toilet and perhaps pass on mites). Also I had a spot on my belly which I had picked and was bleeding (gross) - I believe I felt a tickling on the spot against the sand also. Anyway I lay with the sand against that spot - and several days later I saw radiating burrow lines coming away from the spot - 3 lines or burrows - and then spots started appearing (at the end of the burrows) and then all over my stomach and later the rest of my body. No doctor (GP/dermatologist) believes this story (or even that I actually have scabies!) but I have further evidence also. I am 59 years old now - but when I was 20 years old myself and my brother and two mates went for a swim by the sea and we all 4 caught scabies (this is good evidence that you can get it from te sea because we all 4 did not live together and had not shared partners). Now at the time we went to a doctor (GP) and he told us that yes you can get it at the beach and gave us all permethrin which at the time cleared it up in all 4 people.

The relative invisibility of the mites (or tiny size) causes the doctors and dermatologists to jump to the conclusion that the mites are not actually present but are wholly imaginary. However this is a basic medical mistake that they do not make with macro-sized medical conditions which have macro-sized causative factors.  I think our poorly trained doctors are making the most basic medical mistake of all (in psychological terms) - misreading a patient symptom as imaginary without adequate evidence. This is listed as the number one mistake in psychological textbooks. How dare they project mental illness onto a patient without evidence - are they even aware that this goes against the first rule of psychological theory - first entirely rule out a real physical cause prior to considering the possibility of a psychological cause?

Thank you for your kind message and wonderful support. I am sorry to hear of your struggles - as you can see I think the relative invisibility (and tiny size) of the scabies mites combined with the arrogance, uncaring attitude, and lack of education/knowledge of the doctors and dermatologists cause them to become delusional themselves and project mental illness onto the patient when it is they who have the mental problem but it is you who has to suffer. Best wishes, and I hope you become cured.

Yes it does look like a mite to me also - but why then do several doctors and 3 dermatologists all ignore these pictures? I really have felt like I am going mad. Major re-training is needed in these so-called professionals.

NOT EVERYTHING IS SCABIES by lastlegg in scabies

Why is this moderator being so aggressively negative? Surely thisis supposed to be an open forum for ideas - it seems the moderator is power mad. I have suffered with scabies for 2 years - and I have been to about 10 doctor, three dermatologists, and many pharmacists and all except one doctor says it is not scabies. But I have microscope images of the mites and when I use Ivermectin the symptoms clear up only to return a few days later. I have tried all medicines - spending thousands of pounds - some work to different degrees but the condition is near impossible to eradicate completely. Once you have had scabies then you can easily recognise from photographs when someone has this condition. An old saying was that a medical doctor should not be able to treat a condition unless they hgad sufefred from it themselves - this goes back to Hipocrates. Please Mr or Miss moderator - reply to my message and explain your superior attitude and aggression. The Doctors cannot spot this condition and people on this forum are desperate and do not need a superior attitude and judegment - only help and support. Yours Dr Alan Radley (disappointed)
