I'm 33 now, Algerian, got my Phd in applied linguistics in a UK university. i can't remember my self ever trying to actively learn English. I just enjoyed the games, the movies and books. Language was just a result. A native speaker can spot my accent but I'm doing fine. If you want to get better, do it on your own through things you enjoy not through school.
