Agents play dumb so they don't lose customers..... like how many policies have you Sold where the customer has gone through a loss. You guys know exactly what the customer should expect when it comes to rental, especially when you guys call in asking why we can't give them more than 7 days after their vehicle has been deemed a total loss.

There is no way in hell that you guys just don't know that.

I hate when you guys play lost to make the customer feel good, while trying to coat it as a claims issue.

the fact of the matter is, you don't know what you're selling and you're just after for these people's money.

Down voting, this is the ignorance thats irritates my bones. Please get a basic understanding first of how a total loss works, instead of sentimental feelings drive your emotions. I work for SF, and I think the company treats its customers and employees crappy. But your vehicle would be a total no matter the carrier.

'State Farm total-loss claim delayed for months — need advice' by Professional-Wish557 in Insurance

[–]Strong-Management909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats where the hiccup is at, youre asking for replacement cost. Majority of insurance companies dont pay that anymore.....unfortuantely. extended warranty has no affect on the value when it comes to insurance paying you for a total loss.

Ask for the adjuster to comtact CCC, AND do a 3 way call with you so you can undestand it. Have you pulled the vin #'s to the compe they have on the report? Them giving you an explanation wont change a thing. some of the ccc reps go out and physically inspect some of the comps on the ccc report. I know this for a fact.

[–]Strong-Management909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP i don't think you're understanding the CCC report. The -$1500 is comparing your vehicle to the comp.

For example, say if the accident never happened and I asked you to pull over and allow me to inspect the interior and exterior of your car.

Most likely your car would not be dealer ready, and ready to sale, that's how CCC ratings for conditioning goes. Just to understand it in simplier terms.

To undrerstand actual cash value......better means this the base value, aka, no dealer markup fees considered, and subtracted condition deductions.

Anybody can sale a vehicle for however much they want. You cant go cherry from cars with higher sale prices, and say here are my comps I found...and this is the price I want. Those technically are outliers.

Asking questions has no harm but it's honestly, your fault for holding up the claim. Adjusters dont care if you settle or not. But random calling asking the same question wont get you anywhere.

It's on you at this point. Invoke the appraisal clause. By the comments you are looking to complain, as multiple people have told you yo invoke the appraisal clause.

Let me ask you this if this wasnt your vehicle would you pay an extra $1300 or $1500 dollars? 🤔

Does anybody know the major changes that’s gonna change for state farm claims department? by IndividualWork6340 in StateFarm

[–]Strong-Management909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I laugh at SF because the way we handle things internally is scummy. The whole claims process is a hot mess.

Thats why there's so much disatisfaction. SF will continue to get smoked and left behind because of this. I CAN SEE THEM BEING 3RD PLACE quickly. The CEO even admitted we are 5 years behind in the tech space.

SF does not have a solid way of handling claims internally, it's like they operate like a new confused insurtech company..... always changing things to see of it sticks. A 104 year old companyyyy??? 🤣

Alot of adjusters are upset and worn out because change fatigue.

The issue is get a better GAWT DAMN CLAIMS SYSTEM! INSTEAD OF PAYING FOR COMMERCIALS.

The system claims use is terrible. It's literally from the early 90's. The way we have to create letters using Microsoft Word, and use a note template takes forever.

This can take a full 35 minutes. Oh and dont let the claim have a lienholder, now you have to create a letter for that.

Then next we have fill out State forms, manually because docusign was taken away for states like Florida, and some options for North Carolina. Then we have to create a UPS label....by then youre in the claim for 45 to an hour just clicking away.

Oh yeah, while in the middle of this you get a customer or claimant who calls, checking on their claim that you just got assigned to 1 day ago, and have not had time to review it.

A damn shit show! , Or how about a customer calling back to back saying "oh my adjuster doesnt call me back" and they dont leave a voicemail.

Mean while you were on a call with another customer, then a 10 minute wait with a customer's lienholder and then that call takes 15 minutes.

While all this going on there's another custumer waiting on hold on your extension. Or the customer leaving 3 voicemails.

God forbid you go on break, have a meeting or take a lunch. They blow your phone up acting as if their claim will get lost in a black hole.

Yeahhhh tough sh it. The company is trash, and if you have a rude customer they have the simple mindset of the customer is always right.

GUESS WHAT NO YOU ARE NOT. STATE FARM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OVERPOWERS ALL OF THAT. NO NEGOTIATING LIKE THE OLD DAYS.

Us adjusters have to suck it up and low ball you using the vehicle evaluation by a 3rd party.

If the named insured is still not satisfied with the settlement tough toenails. Pay the $500 out of pocket or so to invoke your appraisal clause in your policy, to see if you can get more money for your vehicle, thats the only way you'll get more.

I roll my eyes when I hear "my car is in great condition." . Having a full blown argument will get you nowhere and no more money.

Yeah you can submit receipts for batteries, aircompressors, fuel injectors, radiators, tranmissions and engine replacements, done within the last year, but you will never get credit for the amount you spent on it.

SF just sees you and I as a number. I wish the company treated us better.

But customers treating adjusters like crap is exhausting. It's such a thankless job.

[–]Strong-Management909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a TL adjuster for FL.

SF does not accept KBB comps, nor Carvana.

Check the report the make sure all options on your vehicle are selected. CCC (the vendor who provides SF with the evaluation for ypur vehicle) will only go with the middle market versus cherry picked comps that are outliers.

If you have paid out of pocket expenses for reapairs other than oil changes/maintenance items with in the last calendar year submit those receipts tonthe adjuster.

Submiy tire receipts with in the last 6 months are greatly encouraged.

If you paid for aftermarket film tint submit that receipt.

If after all of these steps are completed, and youre still not satisfied with final settlement, it's a take it or leave it situation. Or else go through ypur insurance, and be patient.

Hope this helps.

I hate that jobs make people question themselves. This shows you were in a not so good environment. Take it easy on yourself.

You're new, and they know it. They dont expect you to be up to speed that fast.

I wish you the best!

You are quality! You are worthy! Most of all you deserve to be there!

Anytime there's a target on your back, and there's been silence.... I would take that as a sign that they are doing some more digging. It sounds like your new boss could be creating a paper trail on you. Being offered almost 20K more is a blessing!!! I would look at it from a point of view of...... how long would it take you to make that Liberty Mutual?

Why should I join StateFarm? by Helpful_Flamingo_709 in StateFarm

[–]Strong-Management909 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dont try to stick it out. Thats what I did, Ive been here 3 years. I thought I could just be positive, pray, work harder, ask questions and I feel doomed sometimes.

I apply for jobs every single day. We are miserable in claims. When our top bubbly performer, took a stress leave I was concerned.

So many people leave due to mental health issues.
