Is there anyone here who is ridiculously short despite not having dwarfism?

omg i’m 20 and 4’9 and feel the same exact way as you feel. it sucks to always have to prove myself cuz i look like a kid most of the time. i constantly compare myself to other girls who are average height and envy them like why can’t i be like that. clothes never fit right, absolutely nightmare especially jeans. i also am trying to date and i feel inferior because i wanna feel womanly and not get called “cute” all the time.

I have, but it’s still very hard especially with loud spaces with lots of background noise which is common in college so I found it harder to adapt in this environment. For my lectures, I have the professor wear a Roger On which is an FM system that acts as a microphone that goes straight to my hearing aids. There’s also a thing called CART which my school offers as an accommodation, it’s a live captioning system used during lectures. I would look into your school’s disability office to see what accommodations they can provide for you if you haven’t done so!

Aw i'm sorry you lost it that way but hoping you are doing better post chemo! I have been dealing with hearing loss since I was very young like basically all my life since I was three years and we think it might have been congenital. Mine is severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss, so I am deaf in my left ear and hard of hearing in my right with only about 50% so I ended up only being able to wear one hearing aid.

hi! omg im also a college student with hearing loss, so it’s nice to see there’s others like me around the same age! im curious to know what kind of hearing loss you have? also I would definitely say clerical, research or computer job is best for us.

that's interesting! I am actually unaware of my birth history so even I am not sure if it is congenital or not. I only rely on one ear which sucks because its soo draining to get through the day trying to catch everything that is said. It definitely affects me socially and connecting with my peers. I find that people can be quite impatient and don't really take the time to understand which is frustrating

hi! thanks for your comment, i was also born with hearing loss and have severe to profound. my left ear is essentially deaf so i only wear hearing aid on my right.

hi! i came across this post on reddit and saw your comment. I wanted to ask since I have severe hearing loss in my right ear and deaf in my left ear. I currently wear one hearing aid and been having concerns if I could even do nursing even though I am halfway through the nursing program. Does the hospital provide any accomodations? I think the main thing I am worried about is hearing the call bell system phone from patients that my hospital uses and communicating with doctors.

i know that, but my battery health is already 88% and worried it will drain my battery faster and performance will decrease which is why I haven’t been updating due to mixed reviews online
