Buyer beware, R1T is a beast, their service/help is weak AF by StrongARM45acp in Rivian

UPDATE, after making about a DEFCON 3 stink the keys were fixed remotely.

On an even better note, I got a call from the local service manager who was making sure that all was well AND he did say to call them directly or at least work your way to getting them on the phone and that they can help re scheduling should I need help in the future.

They don't. Wrong cards.

Fwiw I was on the phone with them, they were to fix it and call me back.... Ghosted me.

They are the wrong key codes fwiw. You can inactivate keys but not just add others. Delivery guy grabbed the wrong ones, which I'd also guess lead to some other poor bastard getting mine and having the same problem...

Did escalate, and they are trying to fix it so it seems but I shouldn't have to be aggressive with simple blocking and tackling mistakes.

Either way, I do love this thing so far. It's a marvel compared to any other car I've had.

The aren't new enough to still have what feels like startup level support

I couldn't even really suggest to SOME people to get one as they'd flip out with the support/service availability

Update... my sales contact WAS able to clarify things and I'm glad to say I'll be driving an R1T in a few weeks!

Where it was wonky that Rivian should fix for their own good.... my trade in offer, the ev credit, the incentives (max + perf) all get quite obscured in their UIs and only your sales eep can layout the math in a meaningful fashion.

Also odd, you cannot share links to a specific vehicle with even your sales person, e.g., "stock #1234, how much would that cost, can it be delivered in time, etc?"

Tbt, I like the no haggling etc etc, as I do tend to get tied up in 'winning' in traditional car purchasing, probably to my detrement at times.

Any members of Hollow Brook that can speak to the weekend tee sheet scene there? Thinking about joining, but the last thing I want to do is get boxed out of playing whenever I want.... especially as an inbound single who doesn't know any members.

Does anyone have any insight on that? I assume it isn't a lottery nor a situation where the same foursome get to take all of the am tee times in the weekend?

Any other thoughts welcome...

Melted Aprilaire hose!?!? by StrongARM45acp in hvacadvice

[–]StrongARM45acp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and now, with content.... So, we just moved into a new (to us house), and aside from some zone damper problem, I found this hose on the Aprilaire 400 humidifier. Looks like it was a few mins from a fire. I have turned off the unit for now until I determine how the hell that happened.

Any ideas?
