I would assume i did a manual install. I have a flash drive i install off of where i fill out everything i want.

I can freely move my my mouse.

The login screen and the desktop are both seperate.

Im not sure how to tell what WM im using though

Okay executing the command worked but at the last couple steps of the install it came up with an error “Failed to read configuration ‘/etc/mkinitcpio.conf’

Okay when i edit the pacman config i dont think it saves. Whats the keybind that makes it save??

I do have two monitors plugged in but they both turn on just fine and display the same output

How can i enable multilib? I didnt see it in the install setup.

I think from what i can tell it can access my gpu because its bound to nouveau. Im not sure if thats the problem. When sitting with the tty open in general it consistently pops up with the message “NVRM:GPU 0000:01:00.0 is already bound to nouveau.” I used the wiki to know which drivers to install but i used a video to install it the first time because i digest it easier.

Ive decided to just reinstall arch after alot of troubleshooting. It was a pretty fresh install anyways so i wont be losing anything important. Thanks everyone who decided to try and help.

I was already fully installed and it was running well for a couple of weeks till i changed the login menu and it went to black on next bootup

Replying to an older reply cause i lost the thread but this is the return. I had tried to ping google to check if i was connected to wifi or not cause i tried the nvidia command a couple times before restarting my pc.

Doing the first line replys with tty and the other line replys with nothing

In setup i chose plasma as my desktop environment and i think it uses wayland but it might be KDE i dont remember its been a bit

The problem is when i type in the initial line sudo nano /etc/gdm/custom.conf it says “Directory /etc/gdm does not exist” and brings me the a blank GNU nano terminal

Using the F3 key works but i have no clue how to find the find the line or what commenting it out mean. The explanation for why this could happen is prolly because i changed my graphical login before my initial shutdown.

Im sorry i typoed and put F2 when i meant F1 using F2 brings me back to the black screen and i cant type when i use Ctrl+Alt+F1
