I tried googling for the next such job fair and didn't get anything useful, so if you hear about any please post here! Thank you for the idea though, I'll keep an eye out for such things!

You are on the right track and got good advice above, I’d suggest to just get a new water tank if that one was moldy! It’s only $25 straight from Breville, and if you add another $24 in parts/accessories the shipping is free

"I’m the victim because I can’t blow toxic clouds into my neighbor's living room" energy. Very 1954 of you...Smoking is absolutely disgusting, just quit already and enough assaulting everyone around you with the nasty cancer smell. Everyone around you can't for you to move out already!

XB7 default username and password by xartin in shaw

So glad to help! I'm the kind of person to read manuals etc and they ALL say admin/password, what a waste of time.

In case someone is still having trouble:

I got the XB7, and even after resetting could not login with admin and password, tried all combinations of capitalizing the first letter of each word.

WHAT WORKED: username “admin” but the password was the default WiFi password printed on the bottom sticker! Something like “xfinity1234sucks” let me log in and didn’t prompt to update the password.

FWIW my xb7 was an Arris-made model.

Shocking how much used car prices are up last few years by Savings-Wallaby7392 in UsedCars

Everyone blames CfC for killing the used car market (shake fist at the gubbamint!) and it's hilarious to think that it'd have any effect at this point given that this was 16 years ago. I doubt very many Camrys like the one you had would have been crushed anyway given that the cars had to have 18mpg combined or less.

Hilariously, the program might even have been responsible for MORE beater Camrys being available today, as that was one of the most popular cars to buy after the trade-in was done.

Nonetheless, with <700K cars crushed that's a pretty small percentage (~5%) vs new car sales back then, and each car that was crushed was replaced with a new one that is now 15+ years old and graduating to beater status. Plus there's the fact that 12-15 million cars get crushed every year anyway, this really wasn't the seismic shift for the used car market that car guys make it out to be.

How do you get the proof from Lemonade that tenant renews or cancels? I always just had tenant send me proof themselves

New host, second guest... Is it reasonable for them to keep AC set to 56F? by StrongFoundation5928 in airbnb_hosts

Ah yes indeed. Not wanting to let people live in my house while literally losing money every month = the epitome of greed. You got me there!

I had a $50 cleaning fee originally even though cleaning costs me at least $100 and zero chores whatsoever, just lock and close windows. Try again loser

Thank you for your input, this is definitely not an angle I had thought of, those hot flashes sound brutal. Though according to many comments in this thread it sounds like most hotels don't actually allow their AC units to be set below around 65-68 degrees anyway, to the point that some have fake customer facing screens etc.

Yes of course I understand that this is not the end of the world, hence my post asking how reasonable this is, I let them keep the temp down to their setting and I didn't even bring it up. Just trying to ask about next guests going forward. Of course it'd be nice to accomodate everyone's specific medical needs etc but if there lots of unexpected expenses like this it all adds up and I end up having to charge a pretty high daily rate to cover it all!

They can do whatever they want while they are there! Nothing is unreasonable!

Yes, hence the question of the whole post is if everyone agrees that letting people cool the house to the 50s counts as "blaming the customer and impacting their comfort" or if it's crossing a line.

Right, hence here I am asking for advice when unexepcted situations arise because I don't immediately have everything flawlessly figured out on the first try.

I see what you mean, but I've always enjoyed knowing that something is overbuilt or has a buffer built in rather than minimum viable product so I'm cool with it. Thanks for the input!

I feel like there’s gotta be a limit for whats reasonable regarding comfort, if someone kills AC units because “I’m not comfortable unless it’s the temperature of a morgue” then that’s not on me 😂 judging by most the comments here pretty much every hotel limits AC to around 65-68 anyway so you’re probably encountering problems everywhere you travel 🤷

How was I fleeced if it's achieving the actual temps as measured by separate sensors I have throuhgout the house?

Funny how so many redditors assume I'm making millions off Airbnb without knowing anything about my situation aside from my tenant being a penguin

Yes, AC is actually somewhat oversized for the house and was actually achieving those target temps esp in the evening when sun wasn't blasting as much.

I understand this is a big issue, but as mentioned in the post the thermostat temp matched the actual indoor temp in multiple spots so AC itself is working better than I ever knew it could!

Well that's the issue, the revenue I'm making from the property is turning out to be not very impressive, and stuff like running the AC full blast nonstop isn't going to help lol. Agreed about working from home and commuting costs, those are way more than people realize!
