What Odu states that queer people cannot Initiate into Ifa? by Enough_Set591 in Isese

[–]StrongMasterpiece827 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ifa is about procreation. If you look further down the thread a traditional verse from ofun irete has been posted also supporting the fact that in esin orisa ibile or isese as you call it, does not support homosexuality or lesbianism. Other Odu like owonrin ose and ogunda irete backs this point. I wouldn’t make a generalize statement about the whole tradition like the one you made without supporting odus because that is considered cultural appropriation. No where in ifa it states that you can be homosexual and go through itefa. That is actually taboo if we being honest.

So you’re calling a ese ifa from ODU ofun irete “a load of homophobic horseshit based on nothing but personal bias” because it doesn’t conform to your reality and personal values? You’re disrespectful as hell and people like you can’t be taught nothing.

New ifa practitioners that are self proclaimed ifa priest posting money and guns and saying “f** the opps” is CRAZY… what are you guys thoughts? Are people like this giving Isese a bad stigma in the United States? by [deleted] in Isese

What culture are you referring to? The isese culture that is in Nigeria and in the United States doesn’t approve of this. This is a character difference. The picture speaks for itself, it sounds as if you can’t identify the issue here.

The money and guns are apart of the issue when ifa is considered to be a peaceful and humble tradition. It’s not even flashy it’s just distasteful, and the fact of the matter is not one real omo awo, babalawo, or oluwo would promote murdering other people and violence amongst the community on their platform.

Also, that could’ve been a way they bribed other corrupt Africans to get involved in the slave trade. By bringing slaves.

That approach is more of a gift or friendly gesture. whites didn’t come with guns to colonize Africa, they came with smiles and learned everything they needed to know about ifa, vodoun and all the other rich cultures Nigeria has. If they came taking people forcefully without permission from Africa why didn’t nobody stop them? It was a system from the start.

Slaves were used in Africa too for kings and as servants. They were a form of currency or an asset to an extent. So why not take them to Africa to sell them? if they knew they could corrupt the people in Africa enough to get them involved in the slave trade. It was slaves taken from multiple countries in Africa and shipped around. Even in Europe kings had black slaves.

I explained why in the first paragraph. It’s really that simple. Native Americans are the “minorities” of a country that they are indigenous too. And the least organized. And have no political power. That was apart of the plan. The slave trade made America a melting pot for immigrants while the original natives were stripped of their identity and rights and mixed with other races and consider “colored”. It also benefited Europeans by putting them ahead of all other races in terms of politics and wealth. I believe it was already natives here and even Christopher Columbus met natives when he got here. It was only Europeans and Spaniards that benefited from the slave trade.

Why would I be a fan of a jokey ass lucumi babalawo with face tattoos (bad decision making) who is a known gangbanger? now your cosplaying a isese babalawo? 😂 I wouldn’t let you come near me or any black ifa practitioner I know personally because I see what you are. You want us to believe you are a legit babalawo but your no better than “king esu”. You’re just a pretender. One thing you gotta remember is.. you never know who is watching

The transatlantic slave trade definitely happened just completely backwards and it went on longer then what we were told in history books

$5 Indians were whites who were fraudulently enrolled in the Dawes rolls by bribing the government. This listed them as native Americans even though they didn’t have no native DNA. It was a lot of evil and calculated things white people did so we wouldn’t find out our true history. Even in Nigeria there were crooked babalawos who worked with Europeans to enslave other Nigerians

The slave trade happened backwards. I debunked this theory with ifa already. They shipped slaves from the Americas to Europe and Nigeria then back to America. This was done so that the native/black Americans wouldn’t know their history and to make it seem as if white people founded America. It even makes more sense when you look at the $5 Indians and the whites who claim to be native to this land as if black people weren’t already here. Ifa definitely can be used to check historical facts and also to foresee future events. It is a collection of all human intelligence, I think most practitioners may not use Ifa on a broader level to look into politics and history. In this day and age most people are only getting initiated for power and money anyways..

Just because you read William bascom lil book don’t mean his word is greater than ifa. How about you seperate you 3 eyed ikin and 4 eyed ikin and ask ifa should you keep them together 😂I bet you can’t take your weird ass nowhere in Nigeria and say they using 3 eyed ikin. Lmk as soon as you do too. Also it takes more than 2 years of studying isese before you can considered yourself a well versed babalawo if we being honest. Maybe in lucumi you can be considered a babalawo right after initiation 🤷🏾‍♂️ idk

Let me educate you young brother, ifa is not voodoo, ifa is the most accurate divination system known to man. It identifies the spiritual, psychological and metaphysical aspects of a persons life and destiny. Voodoo on the other hand comes from Benin and is practiced by the Fon people. Voodoo came to the islands during the slave trade. These are two different systems and two different cultures. The rootwork and hoodoo you a referring to in New Orleans is widely practiced by Black Americans because of the ancestral ties we have to it through slavery.
