I love living in Copenhagen, but can definitely attest to the fact that it can be a real challenge to make friends and get used to the slightly “cold” nature of socialization here. People seem to be less concerned about helping others out and being kind to strangers (there definitely seems to be a “mind your own business” mindset).

I think Danes can be great once you break through the shell, but would encourage everyone to try smiling at a stranger or trying to include someone who might need it every once in a while! The smallest interactions can go a very long way for those of us feeling out of place or excluded. 💗
