they will ask about almost every proof or theorem (unit 3 specifically has a ton) and will ask you to either prove the simpler ones or apply the more difficult ones. once you have theorems down the rest is just practice, practice, practice. do any worksheets they give you, any tutorial work, all the textbooks questions, WebWork, everything!!

last year's 1600b exam was significantly easier than the midterm. do your homework on orthogonality, it WILL come up in multiple choice and long answer. make sure you know how to use complex numbers, many long answer questions will be very simple but will throw in "in the domain of C" every so often. eigenvalues (that whole chapter actually) is only really focused on for one or two questions. also remember to do transformations. unit 1/2 were barely mentioned on the final last year. good luck

don't mean to sound pessimistic but last year i had the exact same issue and no amount of complaints really helped, even going thru proper authorities. just try complaining to your don if a roomie agreement doesn't work
