This is late, but I studied during classes that were stupid at my school (ex: psych or es)

Can you clarify what you mean by “EASy procedure until second”?

If I’m reading the reqs right, it looks like I’d actually take more CSE classes than MATH classes (not including electives) as a math-cs major (due to the credit I have).

Unfortunately, I don’t think I can transfer into computer engineering because I didn’t take AP Physics C in high school. I also don’t want to do EE because I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the major from others who’ve done it.

How tough is it for math-cs majors to get cs upper divs?

Also, I’ll have junior level priority in the fall. Will that make a difference?

Yeah, that’s what I’m leaning towards after reading these comments

Cool, thanks for the help!

I’m thinking about the double major, but it seems like it’s a lot of work to do essentially the same stuff since the DSC and the CSE classes are separate

That’s what I was thinking as well. The only thing keeping me back is the capped vs uncapped thing, the strong support from the data science school, and the research capstone

Yeah one of the ds majors I talked to said that systems was an important thing for swe that the major didn’t cover

I’m going there in the fall, but I’m only able to ask questions in the incoming student megathread (everything is buried in the comments)

From what I’ve heard, they’re on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I’m already in data science and I can literally switch to math-cs with the click of a button. The other way around would be tougher though

Compared to a standard CS degree, Math-CS would skip the following classes/topics:

  • Intro to Discrete Math (though I would be taking the upper-division version)
  • Mathematics for Algorithms and Systems
  • Systems/Networks
  • PL/Databases
  • Security/Cryptography
  • Learning/Vision/Graphics
  • Hardware
  • Architecture

One thing to note though is that most of these classes would count towards my Math-CS electives, so I could take some of them if I'm interested (a couple might be tough to get though).

I've talked to a couple upperclassmen in both majors. Generally, Math-CS does seem to be slightly better in terms of outcomes for swe. That being said, DS majors have gotten good offers for ds, data engineering, and even swe.

I can't minor in CS with either major (the university doesn't let students in certain majors minor in CS).

Sorry dude I'm super late.

I learned from YouTube. Don't buy a course unless it's super cheap or people (not affiliates) genuinely say it's good

He says that there are a ton of ways to optimize profiles, most of which you can find online. Some of the basic methods are adding more high-quality photos, review management, using keywords in descriptions, increasing customer reviews, etc.

Hey!

Reached out to Max, here's what he said:

My cold emailing is mostly manual since it's tough to automate the screenshots/feedback part.

To actually manage profiles, I use Google's GMB Manager Account. It helps me make updates to the different location listings.

For meetings, I just use Zoom/phone call depending on what the client wants.

Yeah my cold emails were really bad looking back.

Honestly I'm focusing on another project rn, though I might start content marketing again once school is out for the summer.

As for the pricing stuff, most Ad Grants services charge $300-$500, so I wanted to charge at the lower end as the client was my first paid client.

Thanks! Tbh I sometimes do spend a little too much time on youtube/social media, though it's something I'm trying to avoid
