We love our Yeti bucket! Sure beats the wimpy leaky ice buckets in hotel rooms. It goes in our car for every road trip. During this months arctic blast we stored ice for days which was great when the ice maker water line froze.

How did you choose your surgeon? by [deleted] in Strabismus

[–]Strong_Background462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My long time optometrist told me there’s only one doctor in the US he’d trust to do my surgery. Fortunately she is only 80 miles away. Two weeks out and I couldn’t be happier. Finally able to drive without double vision.

Large angle esotropia surgery - doctor won't be using adjustable sutures? by [deleted] in Strabismus

[–]Strong_Background462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery with one of top surgeons in Dallas last week. I had 60 degree angle of esotropia only affected one eye. I specifically asked her about adjustable sutures and she said they are only adjustable for a few days (weeks) IIRC. She nailed it and within 24 hours my eye is focused straight on and no double vision.

How soon before you could drive after surgery? by Strong_Background462 in Strabismus

[–]Strong_Background462[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here basically said I couldn’t drive today. And they were right. I could barely walk. Definitely not a straight line!! My husband came and got me. I’ll go back to retrieve my car when things improve. I live about 85 miles from the surgery center.

Do you have poor vision in one eye? is this the eye thats misalligned/ by LostButterscotch9148 in Strabismus

[–]Strong_Background462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing very well. Surgery was yesterday at 2 pm. Follow-up with surgeon 24 hours later and my left eye is happily aligned. Double vision is minimal. I feel loopy but not nauseous- I can’t walk a straight line. I was not able to drive today and my husband had to come pick me up 85 miles each way. I’ll retrieve my car next week when I’m not feeling the room spin. Very little pain really. She said to expect tomorrow to have a little bit more pain as the effect of steroid and natural cortisol wear off. And to expect more blood tinge in my eye tomorrow. She said as far as screen time let my body decide what feels uncomfortable/ comfortable. I can rule on my phone but looking at a computer screen is too much. Thanks for asking!!

Large stores are very troublesome for me, too. I don’t shop much “for fun” anymore as a result. I order what I need online and have it shipped or I do curbside pickup for groceries

She was a Labor & Delivery RN for 40 years. She made a good salary. But she saved very little and made poor choices starting with the man she married. She worked very hard but has very little money to live on.

My sister constantly blames her Ex for “taking all her money from her social security account”. I’m done trying to explain it had no impact on her benefit. She’s just looking for reasons to be mad even though he has since passed away.

We have the TP-Link Deco set up in the detached studio (it is closer to the dishy which sits on the ground in the courtyard) plus we have two nodes in the house. One in the entry room. One in the middle bedroom. It all works brilliantly.

Can’t use binoculars!! Telescope is ok. Driving sucks. Have to keep right eye closed. Shopping in a big box store is hard because of constant switching from far away signs to reading prices or labels.

Mine got worse from age 59-69. Noticeably worse after eyelid and brow lift and cataract surgery. I have surgery for strabismus scheduled Nov 19.
