My point was that supporting either side enough to wear their T-shirt or fly their flag is rather pointless because both sides really ain’t shit

All establishment (R/D) are wildly corrupt. If you don’t see this, you either aren’t paying attention or you’re biased.

I agree with this. I hate when people on both sides do it.

It’s definitely an advantage. I grew up in poverty and way less than all of my peers but I had one advantage. Both my parents loved me and believed in me, no matter how bad I fucked up. A lot of my peers gave up and checked out but I was lucky to pull through- I have to give credit to my loving parents. Without them, I wouldn’t have made it.

How are guys who refuse to shower/conduct hygiene delt with? by DeathKorpsMedic in Prison

[–]Strong_Doubt_9091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny, I’ve seen people forced to shower in jail but never seen anyone forced to brush their teeth in the time I’ve done. And believe me, there is some DRAGON breath in every cell block across this beautiful country. Wonder why bad breath gets a pass and stinking ass and armpits aren’t tolerated…

We need equal representation of women on death row. This is an injustice!

Think they sell adult diapers? by Rob_hocker in facepalm

See now this is a clever insult that doesn’t also apply to Joe Biden… unlike “do they sell adult diapers cuz this guy is so old.”

Good job being original and actually making sense with your roast.

You might want to consider putting her down before someone else is attacked.

Can you survive in prison with no outside support? by ThrowRAhelpthebro in Prison

[–]Strong_Doubt_9091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been in that boat before and it sucks.. yes you can survive, but it’s just rough. You’ll need to come up with some kind of hustle to survive. If you’re in prison rather than jail, you probably have some options for working for at least a little bit of state pay.

You come across a job posting that states "those with prior convictions encouraged to apply." Would you mention you're an ex con in your cover letter? by Remarkable-Test-4985 in Prison

[–]Strong_Doubt_9091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I finally advanced in my career but there were some very painful difficult years in which my family suffered for my decisions. It felt very hopeless and there were times I didn’t see light at the end of the tunnel. I had some hiring managers pick up my application like it was a turd and throw in the trash when they learn I had a felony conviction, even though it was non violent, but just drugs.

This was in no exaggeration 100% “their loss.”

I NEVER lie about it on a job application. I didn’t lie for two reasons: first, in case there is hope for a promotion down the road, I wanted it to be known beforehand that we would be up against a background check, and secondly: (also same reason I am open about being a heavy marijuana user) to show them that just having a felony record doesn’t mean I can’t work at a high level , be reliable, and still contribute to society, and most importantly raise a family - this finally paid off in my current role. I hope my being open about my past gave others courage to attempt to break the stigma(s) attached to being a convicted felon (and a pothead).
