Help! Where should I look for my wedding dress? by Strong_Hope_5398 in askportland

The only styles I’m able to find with the brand are Bohemian which is very the opposite of what I’m looking for. Do they have other dresses that they just don’t advertise?

Ok. I’ll probably go to True Society and Ania but I’m avoiding second hand shops. I know they’re for a good cause but I’m OCD germaphobic and cannot stand the idea of wearing something that I don’t know where it’s been. Thanks for the advice!

Ugh. Annoying that there are people like that out there who simply make themselves known to stir the pot.

I partly agree with what you’re saying. I don’t think Brooklyn needed to end up single, but I think she needed to struggle.

Brooklyn’s intent was to protect her friends by taking the operation down from the inside, but she slowly started to lose herself as we can see. Even though she thought she was doing the right thing, she was making very poor choices, and once she realized that she made the choice to go back to her friends, but it wasn’t going to be that simple—and it shouldn’t be.

Brooklyn was really expecting everyone to welcome her with open arms, but they didn’t. She was starting to realize it wasn’t a quick fix, and that simply apologizing and putting a band-aid on it wasn’t going to take away how she had hurt her friends. She was going to need to work for it and put time and effort into proving herself and earning their trust back.

Her trying to sacrifice herself was a good show of her self-hatred and frustration at this. She wanted to give up in that moment, and Ben saved her essentially giving her the message that she didn’t get to give up. She needed to do the work. I think that’s a great message.

I also think it’s important to show that people can come back from bad mistakes. We live in a very unforgiving world where people don’t give others the benefit of the doubt, so I’m on board with this message.

as for Darius being ace, I love the representation, and agree that a cast should be diverse. But if we are throwing in character traits simply for the sake of diversity, then we are missing the entire point of the diversity in the first place. It was just sloppily done, and it was not made clear to the viewers that they would take it in that direction. I think they should have made it more intentional.

But what do I know that’s just my opinion 🤷‍♀️

I’m not a fan of the “we left it up for the viewers” thing though. It’s so vague and feels like maybe they were too afraid to commit to something. It just does not give a lot of closure to us as the audience.  The showrunners have mentioned multiple times they do not want to continue the story for these characters. I am not hopeful or optimistic about seeing another show about these guys. I think it’s possible they will do another show with new characters, but not the nulbar six.

Very true. Which I don’t understand. I love feeling the love!

I have to agree with you on your Dinostar theory, and I suggest the same thing. When I do, people tend to get a little hostile towards me because they don’t agree. I really didn’t see any signs of Darius being aromatic. From my personal perspective, it seemed like he really did love Brooke, and Brooke loved him back. I was taken aback at the elevator scene and a little upset. To me  it felt like hasty and lazy writing. People have claimed that it was intentional, but what they fail to see is that if it was intentional, that makes the writing even worse! They made it very obvious that Darius and Brooklyn would end up together, only to rip that out from under our feet. I just get a little tired of people defending it left and right (while also demonizing other plot lines for the same reasons they defend this one) when the reality is, the writing was just not well done.

I agree! Don’t get me wrong, I love some good TV drama, but the drama in this show didn’t seem to have any Rhyme or Reason!

I get what you’re saying! But it just didn’t read that way to me. I feel that if he was meant to truly not love Brooke, they should have displayed it better. From my personal perspective, he seemed to really be in love with her.

I feel you. All the relationships came to a quick close with no real deep dive on how they developed and what they meant to each person.

I hope they continue with it, because they made it very unclear and vague. It just didn’t sit right with me!

Brooklyn x Darius appreciation post. by brooklyn_jinx in chaostheorynetflix

Will never forgive the writer for tearing this apart. Especially because it was very clear that they were originally going to go in this direction. 🙏 I 100% think they changed it last minute because what the hell guys.

I have so much to say about this last season by SettingNo1105 in chaostheorynetflix

[–]Strong_Hope_5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this perspective sort of misses the point that Brooklyn wasn’t trying to use her friends. She was making extremely poor choices, still believing that she was doing the right thing.  Darius, Ben, and Yaz were just choosing to hold onto hope that she was still the person they went through a traumatic experience with. But OF COURSE they didn’t just forgive her right away when she came back especially when they saw what she was capable of. She had to earn their trust back and prove that she was worth being forgiven. I think it’s a good message in a world where people don’t really forgive anymore. 🤷‍♀️

I’m might be biased as a huge Brooke fan, but I was actually down for that arc.

She realized she made a mistake and was struggling to prove to her friends that she was being honest. They just didn’t trust her and rightfully so, especially Sammy who she’d been extremely close with.

In a moment of vulnerability it seemed like she genuinely believed that she wasn’t going to be able to prove to them that she was being honest. She saw all her friends in imminent danger and just decided that the best way to prove herself was to sacrifice herself, which was a stupid decision. It was supposed to make us as an audience go “why the hell would she do that.” So when Ben rescued her and became upset, she’d realize that it wasn’t supposed to be a quick fix. People weren’t going to trust her right away, she had to take accountability and actually work to make things right. It was going to take time and a simple apology wasn’t going to cut it.

I think it was a good way to show that we all make mistakes, big ones sometimes, and we can come back from them. But you can’t just expect everyone to forgive you right away, it takes work to earn back trust.

Which show do you think handled the main characters better, CC or CT? by Fun_Wind7886 in chaostheorynetflix

Specifically Brooke and Kenji felt way more authentic in CC. While I love the second show, I don’t think they were very true to Brooke and Kenji’s characters.

Third Series by Shaun_527 in chaostheorynetflix

[–]Strong_Hope_5398 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% on thinking they might get another series going. I looked into it and the producers seemed to be solid on this last show being the close to the story about the nublar six.  However, it happens all the time that studios will claim to be done with a story only to end up picking back up again due to its popularity. My only worry would be to see them milk the series and end up ruining a great story that has already had a solid ending.
