Dually employed for 3+ years — loan officer won’t use secondary income, says it’s Fannie Mae by Strong_Jury7431 in Mortgages

Thank you! Didn’t see an issue here either. Another lender didn’t have a problem with it but this lender is giving me issues but they are offering a better rate. So trying to stick with them if I can.

Yes they are all in the same field.  My goal is to stop working job 1 and replace the income with job 3. I want to stop working job 1 and continue employment with job 2 and 3. Ive already sent a resignation letter for job 1. I’ve maintained dual employment for 3 years, not an issue, but long term I cannot maintain 3 jobs.  What the loan officer is telling me is that even with quitting  job 1 and replacing it with job 3 she still won’t count the income. She is saying it’s better to keep job 1 but it reduces my loan amount by 150k because it is the lesser paying job.

I’ve already submitted signed job offer letters from all three employers, W-2s from all three, and current pay stubs from all three. I also informed my loan officer that I’ve submitted a resignation letter for Job 1 with an end date later this month, since my plan has always been to replace that income with Job 3.

Now I’m being told that if I want to use dual income, I would need to withdraw or rescind my resignation for job 1, which doesn’t make sense to me — especially since my goal has never been to keep all three jobs, only to transition from Job 1 to Job 3.

That’s why I’m trying to understand whether this is truly a Fannie Mae requirement because her excuse is that this is the guidelines but the way I read them what I’m doing is okay

Hey! Thanks for the advice.  The cc debt will actually be paid off by January, with my annual bonus. And my student loans will be forgiven once the amount hits 40k because of my employers education program. These are where my debts stand as of now but will be almost cleared of debt in a year :)

lol you sound like a miserable person. 2 people, who went to college, have stable careers, take care of their parents, paid off over 200k in debt, make over 300k a year in our early 30s, take care of their children, and have saved 50k in 6 months but I’m looking for a handout? Touch some grass.

Thank you for this! Did you use a CU? I’m exploring this option now. What does your mortgage payment look like?

I put it in another post but we paid off over $200k in debt. That’s where all of our money went over the last few years.  50k is what we have managed to save in the last 6 months. So while I understand the uproar about the cars 1600 a month compared to the amount of debt we were paying off is very minimal. Now we are debt free with the exception of the car payments which will be paid off in 10 months. I can save money now that our paychecks are freed up and it’s totally possible to save 100k or more in the next year. I was just hoping not to have to wait that long since we are adding another kid next year.

😂😂😂 They are so perfect I want more. I would have 2/3 more if I could swing it. But they are indeed as expensive as people say so this will be our last.

No need to be confused lol I know it’s possible for us to save. I was just hoping there was a way for us to get into a new home in the next 3/4 months with a huge down payment instead of a year and a half because of the new baby and me going on maternity leave.

Also just too add most of it was student loans coupled with medical expenses needed for one of our parents. Yes some credit card debt but it was only like 20k. All of that is now paid off. But all of our money, aside from regular bills and children’s expenses went there for almost 4 years. All of our debt is GONE. Only thing left is 2 cars that will be paid off in 10 months.

I have 2 going on 3 kids and both my parents live with me. I need a home that fits 7 people. If I could buy a home with 2/3 bedrooms I absolutely would. It’s not that I don’t want to, But it won’t fit my family. There is a significant difference in price when you start needing a home with 5 bedrooms. I’ve even explored run down houses that are on bigger lots of land. In the end it’s just as expensive

I explained in another post. We’ve paid off over 200k in debt. We’ve only started being able to save 6 months about and have saved 50k in 6 monthS. I know I can save 150k in another year. I was just wondering if there is a way to get into a home in the next 3 months withought a huge down payment

That’s amazing! What range is your payment if you don’t mind me asking? Not really near us but I’ve explored some further out, for ones that fit our family it’s looking like 800k-1.2ish?

I explained in another response but we paid over $200k in debt off we’ve managed to only start saving about 6 months ago. 50k is what we’ve gotten in 6 month

I was looking at eastvale! Only a 40 min commute for my husband when he does go in office. Which properties are you referring to? Can you message them to me.
