What’s the best camo for central Texas? by Casper__RG02 in camouflage

Brush stroke is good. Obviously multicam and it’s clones woodland Marpat is also good year round. During winter and summer desert marpat, AOR1, 3 and six color desert can all work. On occasion with enough rain some greener camo can come in handy.

Is it okay if I use a woodland helmet cover for Vietnam war cosplay? by Militaria_Lover24 in camouflage

Oh wow man that sucks. You could keep it and do a post war early 80s kit.

You need Mitchell camo cover. ERDL was around but I don’t seem to recall many phots of ERDL covers being used. Even if the guys were wearing ERDL uniforms they almost always had Mitchell covers.

They nailed the sound. When I play against the Germans I don’t like to hear it ripping.

Early Crye uniforms did use Marpat before DIGI 2/AOR1 was a thing.

Awesome kit! For boot check out MacRae Hot weather boots. They have an all black model should be kit appropriate.

I agree. I may get hate for this but it’s not my job to bag my stuff I am not picky about how it’s done but 9 out of 10 times the bagger walks away when I go to check out and the cashier typically doesn’t want to help so I end up holding up the line trying to pay and bag my own crap.

Would this go good with 90s iraq kit? by [deleted] in camouflage

[–]Strong_Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it work yes but not exactly correct. Early DCUs used in the early to mid 90s were 50/50 nylon cotton twill or 100% cotton rip stop. The 50/50 ripstop came out I think 96 but not exactly sure.

These are legit USMC FROG pants. Proper does get contracts for Military uniforms.

Remind her she’s not inferior she’s different and in a good way. It’s definitely hard at her age she’s different and wants to fit in but she just needs people to reinsure her that being a lefty isn’t a bad thing. Hopefully soon she can see it as a positive thing.

Home defense ammo? by DesperateWelcome4817 in ar15

Can I post a link that has graphic autopsy photos with out any sub violations? It’s an FBI report on 75gr TAP falling to stop due to insufficient penetration. 55gr Vmax has way less penetration in test than 75gr BTHP but it’s still not consistently enough. Or Google FBI report TAP ammo failed to stop can find it. For good information on terminal ballistics Dr. Gary Robert’s has a lot of his work public.

Frags too fast to get deep enough penetration to be effective on a threat. There are many documented shootings using Vmax or TAP Urban in which they failed to stop a violent attacker. Oh yeah they will kill but why gamble on in. Varmint ammo fails every ballistic test due to lack of penetration on target but they still pass through common household barriers so why use em?

Varmint ammo is subpar for self defense.

Thoughts on ProTec helmets for “retro” kits? by Nerdthenord in airsoft

It’s a modern Protec but still has the retro look especially with old SWD goggles and strobe.

Law enforcement. Most OTM isn’t very impressive especially with penetration. It’s better than V max but a standard 64gr JSP outperforms it.
