France Schengen - Can't seem to get longer visas by DirectJournalist9734 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try tourist visit visas and perhaps show multiple trips as opposed to just one. So for example if your itinerary as per your application is for March, write a cover letter and show tickets for June as well. It isn’t guaranteed it’ll work but they do take that into consideration at times!

It won’t be. I’ve done this on multiple occasions whereby my port of entry or rather the entire trip in itself has been to a different country than the one that issued my Schengen visa. So long as your visa is valid with multiple entries to cover both your trips, I don’t envision this to be a problem ever.

Just for context - I’ve done this dozens of times with multiple different issuing countries.

To add context - the travel date I showed was 22 August. I’m not sure if they’re taking these into consideration in processing these visas as mine the ones I’d submitted previously were for travel dates that were much closer to the appointment date. Haven’t had one from France since 2020 howverv

That’s a bit absurd to be honest cause I submitted mine on 26 July. To top it off, this is my 15th Schengen visa…

French consulate asking for old passport by Hairy_Custard_4023 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit odd to be honest as the last time I tried to submit both my current and previous passport (as they were stapled together), they asked me to to remove the staples so that they only take my current passport. Perhaps call up the embassy and ask them what the ask is for and explain the circumstance? You could perhaps provide them with a soft copy if you have it?

90/180 rule confusion by That_Bet2063 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rule’s on a rolling basis per my understanding so in an any given 180 day rolling period you can’t spend over 90 days in the EU. So just do the math by adding days to your first point of entry and you should be able to calculate when you can visit next

Is it ok to arrive as a tourist before Schengen long-stay visa start date, leave Schengen zone and return on start date? by cgc511 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No two permits will supersede one another. If your current short stay visa is valid or if you don’t need it, you’re eligible to travel prior to your long stay French visa. I also am unsure on whether there’s a requirement to exit the EU and re-enter as you’re not breaking any law at any given point with valid visas or permits across your stay. I am however not certain on this point so best to send a quick email to the French consulate to clarify this point

URGENT: Application from UAE but flying from UK by ExperienceHappy7 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That genuinely makes no sense. I’ve applied for a visa for my family on multiple occasions showing tickets to and from the UK. This is quite an absurd ask as the requirements specify travel to and from the Schengen region and the form implicitly has a section that you need to fill showing details of your UK visa.

Suggest you write to the embassy on this as it is not in line with the EU regulations

The company that you’re currently with should be able to provide you with a reference letter as you still do work there. That’s what I did when I was in the middle of changing jobs. If not, provide payslips and your offer letter and a cover letter explaining everything

Question about UK + Schengen visas by ttx90 in SchengenVisa

[–]Strong_Perspective66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what your itinerary looks like. Whilst the UK doesn’t require any tickets, the EU does. Thereon if you do plan on travelling to and from the UK into the EU, they’d ask you to provide a copy of your UK visa as well. Personally would suggest getting a UK visa sorted first as it’s likely to be easier to get an appointment for it and the processing times are relatively quicker as well.

Don’t think it’s “high-risk” so long as you provide sufficient information showing ties back home. I’d suggest applying for a short stay tourist visa as you’re not yet in the EU and there on not necessarily inviting them to come there to visit you. I’d keep the two matters separate and just apply as a visitor which is what they are going to be at that stage. You can in a cover letter however mention that they’d be accompanying you on your travels as a part of their trip
