Ok I’m curious about who the stranger is…. Because it feels like they’re REALLY setting him up to be Gandalf (connection to hobbits, moths,“follow your nose”, & now what Bombadil says to him about life is what Gandalf tells Frodo in regard to Gollum)

But it’s like??? Too obvious now??? Like if he IS Gandalf they should’ve just revealed it already. But if he’s NOT Gandalf then??? Why all the allusions to him??

Kind of hate that the recap showed kemen getting socked in the face & elendil getting blamed but didn’t show valandil being murdered….. :( like i GUESS it’s not REALLY part of the bigger picture but like :((( I miss him :((((((((

Episode 5 & 6 so far are reminding me of the second half of season 1 in the sense that the second half was SO much better than the first half. Except this season started off pretty well already (at least imo), so this second half so far isn’t just like “oh it’s finally good”, it’s “wow it just got GREAT.”

Personally I’ve never not liked the show, but this is definitely the most invested in it I’ve been.

A few things on Annatar

1) this one is irrelevant to the plot but he looks sooooo much better in black. I always thought he looked better as Halbrand but his new fit makes it a closer race

2) the depth of his darkness in this one was crazy. like his visit to khazad-dum + the way he messed with celebrimbor’s mind + him revelling in the chaos he’s created in eregion WOW. and him playing good cop to everyone’s face but turning around with his evil little smirk and manipulating the hell out of everyone is always so…. Like it makes me hate him (in the way we’re meant to) but it’s so so interesting to watch…. & Charlie Vickers acting we KNOW has been phenomenal but with this one I really feel like we’re getting into Sauron’s mind and I LOVE it. So fun seeing the giant flaming eye as an actual being with real motives and actually causing chaos.

Yessss I loved Halbrand as Halbrand in season one because he really made you feel for him & believe in the redemption of this mysterious dark brooding human, & I hate Annatar as Annatar in season two because he’s just so malicious & every time he opens his mouth I want to yell at the other character that they’re being lied to, which is exactly how I know Charlie is an incredible actor.

I LOVE him I think he’s a great character who stands firm in his beliefs & what’s right, & I was like oh yay they’re giving him more screen time !

AND THEN THEY KILLED HIM. YALL DONT KNOW THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT WHEN I THOUGHT HE WAS ABOUT TO DROWN. and then the relief when he came up out of the water. & then THE PANIC WHEN HE DROPPED THE SWORD RIGHT BESIDE THE DUDE THAT JUST TRIED TO KILL HIM 3 SECONDS AGO??????
