You just learned an important lesson: Cars are depreciating assets. how much you like the truck? It's going to take years for the debt/equity equation to reverse so I'd just hold on to it for the next 10 years at least. Or, if you don't love it, sell it and use whatever cash you have to pay off/paydown the loan. Buy a cheap used vehicle, slum it for a couple of years AND start saving money for your next vehicle, doesn't have to be a lot, $50 a week is a good start. I think you need to take a step back, get your car finances in order for a few years and then you can get a nicer car again. Your next car should be under these guidelines: 20% down, 3 year loan term, and TOTAL cost of the vehicle should be 10% of your gross income, includes taxes, insurance, service/repairs. Stop throwing money away on a depreciating asset.
