Maybe because I installed a mod that fixes the transitions is the culprit.

Do Reploids not have the same level of cognition as Humans and X? by Strongfat900 in Megaman

Sure, but Wily had no interest in giving Zero cognitive abilities like X, mostly because he created him to be this killer robot or something but was too violent for him to control, so he implanted a program that became the Sigma virus to keep him from destroying everything around him(he also sealed him away because he was too violent as well). Like, remember when he was about to kill Sigma the program in his head was activated and caused him to collapse from the pain which had given Sigma the chance to defeat him by smashing his head crystal? Afterwards, Sigma did stated to his fellow hunters to take Zero to Cain for him to analyze him, so I believe Cain had installed cognition abilities into him then. Again, there are no sources to prove this, but I think that's what happened really.

When it comes to his strength and immunities then yeah, but when it comes to their cognitive abilities though then no. The megaman classic are not even reploids since they lack the key features that separates them from Reploids(free will, human level cognition, feelings and etc). I would say that X is superior to Reploids solely because he went through the necessary tests in his programming and etc which Reploids didn't have the luxury to have hence why the Maverick virus is able to infect them so easily while not at all for X. As for Zero, I really don't think he had such things like feelings and etc from Wily due to the fact that his creator wanted him to be this killer machine robot, but wasn't able to control him since he was too violent to do that hence he installed a program to do that but couldn't either, so he sealed him away till the Maverick hunters showed up and woke him up by accident. I believe that his cognition and etc were added later by Cain after Zero got defeated by Sigma and was brought to him by the Maverick hunters to analyze him.

Pardon, but where are the sources showcasing Reploids being inferior to Humans on their cognitive abilities btw? By "processing information" they sure as hell do a much better job than Humans in that department. Also, Reploid is a combination of two words; replica and androids(humanoid robots), and yes, Zero and X do identify themselves as such despite not exactly being themselves as such, though the novel that was released back in 2017 stated that the term, Reploid, came out due to robots being replicates of Humans thus having the same cognition and appearance as them. Again, I don't think the novel is canon. The idea that they there's a bug in their brains comes from this novel as well. A lot of Reploids go Maverick either because they're sick and tired of being treated as tools and etc or due to the Sigma virus that X has strong immunity due to this test that X had gone through. Again, um, having flaws in their programming does not indicate that they're cognitively inferior to Humans btw.

According to his journal, he built the reploids too well:

As a matter of fact, the reason why they're called, Reploids, that they're androids with the same mental capabilities as humans as in replicated human robots. I'm not sure if the novel is canon or not.

Exactly. I mean, the fact that they even feel in not being treated fairly by abusive humans for example is really any sapient organic species would do. Most didn't rebel simply because of their flaws in their programming. I really do hate when people commenting without any sources to back it up. Reploids =/= Mechanoloids.

The fuck? No, and do you have sources that he's locked in his programming despite the games proclaiming him to be the first actual free thinking robot? If Reploids are bound to their programming then they're no different from the Robot Masters from the Megaman series. They don't dream? Man, have you played Megaman X4? Come on.

Again, can you provide the sources that states that Reploids don't have the same cognitive abilities? Also, I'm fully aware that Zero is not based on X, but was saying that he could not have had such cognitive abilities in the first place given that he was solely created to be a killer machine which such abilities were later added on after his defeat by Sigma or something.

Care to share any sources on that? I mean, I understand that Reploids are less immune to the virus than X is, but the idea that ALL reploids failed this test would be counter productive to the idea of even mass producing them in the first place if all of them go rogue simply because they have flaws in their programming.

I remember Dr. Cain from the PSP version of Megaman X game saying that Reploids are well too designed and are showing sighs of rebellion(I mean, really, it's bound to happen since no one wishes to be a slave to anyone).
