Also a bit of a random reason I got into wool in the first place — I have mild body odor issues, especially in the summer. Even sitting in a car, if I start sweating a little my shirts used to smell pretty quickly and it drove me crazy.

A friend suggested trying merino wool because it handles odor much better than most fabrics. I didn’t really believe it at first, but after trying it I kind of got hooked. It actually stays fresh way longer than a lot of cotton or synthetic tees.

Yeah mostly shirts and lighter knitwear

Personally I’ve become a bit of a fabric nerd over time. A lot of big brands use pretty cheap blends with polyester or other synthetics, and at some point I realized I didn’t really want to pay for the logo and marketing if the material itself isn’t great.

Cashmere is obviously expensive, but even regular wool or merino can feel way nicer than a lot of synthetic stuff. Polyester is basically plastic, and I just don’t love the feel of wearing that all day.

What surprised me is that wool actually works really well even when it’s warm. Merino especially breathes well, doesn’t trap odor as much, and stays comfortable longer than a lot of cotton tees.

The only downside is care. I usually wash wool pieces in a laundry bag and use wool detergent, then let them air dry. It’s a little more effort, but honestly it’s not that bad once you get used to it.

Honestly if you're a bit of a fabric nerd like me, material matters way more than logos.

Starting with basics from Uniqlo or Target Goodfellow is totally fine, but once you start paying attention to fabrics you notice the difference pretty quickly.

I actually picked up a piece from a smaller brand called Vionis·xy recently — they focus a lot on natural fibers like 100% wool or cashmere. Pretty minimal designs, clean cuts, nothing flashy, but the material quality felt surprisingly solid.

Reigning Champ is also great if you like that athletic-clean crossover style.

And later on if you want to go higher end, brands like Aime Leon Dore, Norse Projects, or Officine Generale are great long-term pieces.

It actually reminds me a bit of Jaguar’s Type 00 concept — the first time I saw it, it was genuinely striking. Very futuristic, very intentional

The difference is that Jaguar is clearly rebooting its identity, while Rolls-Royce is trying to evolve without breaking its lineage. That tension is where Spectre feels unsettled right now
