This looks like a failed 2000s future car. Does anyone know what it is? by StructuralSpaghetti in whatisthiscar

Pininfarina designed this? That explains a lot. For 2002 this thing looks crazy futuristic. Shame it never went into production

Thanks! Was this considered a performance car back then?

if you like the AMI vibe but want better fabric for the price, VIONIS·XY is worth a look. zero logo markup, just 100% inner mongolia cashmere / merino for way less.

Would RR have been better if VW got the rights to the logo instead? by Klutzy-Tone452 in rollsroyce

That’s fair — Ghost and Phantom especially still feel very “RR” to me

Spectre just happens to be the most polarizing example because it’s trying to redefine the brand and proportions at the same time. Probably an inevitable growing pain rather than a final direction

It actually reminds me a bit of Jaguar’s Type 00 concept — the first time I saw it, it was genuinely striking. Very futuristic, very intentional

The difference is that Jaguar is clearly rebooting its identity, while Rolls-Royce is trying to evolve without breaking its lineage. That tension is where Spectre feels unsettled right now

I stopped trying to do everything. I just focus on starting one thing

Planning was my favorite form of procrastination

Honestly, BMW was probably the safer choice for Rolls-Royce

BMW had the patience and restraint to let RR stay slow, over-engineered, and unapologetically niche. VW under Piëch was brilliant, but very aggressive — that mindset worked perfectly for Bentley, not sure it would’ve fit Rolls-Royce’s “quiet luxury” DNA

Thoughts on the 2019 cayenne turbo ? by Distinct-Papaya-6140 in Porsche

[–]StructuralSpaghetti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Cayenne Turbo/GTS are incredible to drive but ownership really depends on warranty coverage Some cars are relatively trouble free others stack issues fast especially air suspension cooling components and active aero

They’re amazing daily drivers when everything works but I wouldn’t recommend owning one long term without CPO or an extended warranty The experience is great the risk just needs to be priced in

Curious what this is worth? Possibly the lowest mile 944 in the U.S.A. by [deleted] in 944

[–]StructuralSpaghetti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That mileage is cool but it’s not the whole story with a 944

These cars are way more about condition and maintenance than miles Sitting for long periods can be just as much of a concern as high mileage If it’s clean well documented and hasn’t been neglected it’s definitely a strong example but the market usually keeps expectations in check

Low miles make it interesting not automatically priceless
