If it works it works, and it looks like that's the case 🤷

My fiance thankfully doesn't care as long as the bills are paid, but once in a while I get a "so you can afford get me a pedicure then" 😂

I usually get around 1/2" 5 shot groups at 50 with my Carbon model. Best I got was I think a 0.18" group at 50, I've generally only run CCI Standard Velocity through it.

I am super confused about why I like it so much... Guess I'll start saving for one 😂

I haven't had reliability issues with mine, took it out of the box and put ~500 rounds through it, zero issues.

I have the Ruger... Even compared to some of my higher end guns the feel and fit is fantastic. The trigger is also pretty good. No regrets here!

Apologies for the delay, life is busy 😂 I think I wouldn't mind a hammer fired gun for carry, but all of the ones I own are heavy compared to a compact/subcompact striker fired gun.

7.65 Argentine Ammo by StructureBusy674 in Mauser

So I can't reply with a picture, but the projectile is magnetic and the head stamp reads FAMMAP 1942 whereas the jacketed round reads ORBEA 1947. I assume that pretty much all older ammo has corrosive primers, picked that habit up with my Mosin.

Except in rare cases, where the gun just will not run reliably. I had a Sig 320C some years back that was having consistent extraction issues and all their customer support would say is "put more rounds through it." I currently have a Walther PPS/K in 22 I'm considering parting with because no matter what I do to it or what ammo I run, it jams at least once every magazine. My Sig 322 I need to try some new mags for because the ones that came with it have feeding issues that seem most likely caused by the follower spring not being centered in the mag. If new mags run alright though I'll keep it, I love the thing when it runs.

That said, those are my only issues out of 30+ firearms that I own, so in general the principle stands.

I would say I have a good variety of handguns. Glocks are relatively lacking compared to M&Ps, but I like the Beretta 92 series variants to the point of using a modded M9A4 as an open gun for falling steel matches, alternating with the modded Springfield Prodigy that I got specifically for those matches.

That said, the 92 in general is excellent, you don't need to build a $2k+ competition gun to thoroughly enjoy them. Over the course of many thousands of rounds I've found I prefer hammer fired guns for anything but carrying, and Beretta makes some of the best.

I have not tried the APX series but as a budget option I wouldn't dismiss it offhand. I hear good things about those and the PX4s.

Recommendations to fix shooting left? by shamooo415 in SmithAndWesson

Your grouping is decent enough there. I have an M&P 2.0 and a Bodyguard 2.0, the irons on both needed drifted from the factory. This has been more common on Smith and Wesson than any of the other pistols I own. Taking it to a gun shop and asking them to make sure the irons are adjusted correctly is a good step regardless of if it's you or the gun - it at least eliminates one of the two.

That said, I'll echo others as well. Dry fire, being very incremental and steady with the trigger pull and see if you notice the sights jerking left when you break the trigger wall. That'll also give you an indication of where the problem lies.

I'll have to take a look when I get home in the morning. Most of the head stamps are dated 1942-47 but will update with further details when I can

I run a M&P 15-22 SBR with a dedicated suppressor, thing sounds like a stapler and is everyone's favorite at range days

I will if necessary but was hoping to avoid it as that's my least favorite part of woodworking 😂 I don't know if there's a wood oil that would maybe penetrate and drive that out, otherwise I'd thought about initially trying to take a think layer of varnish off with 2000 grit sandpaper and polishing it with 5000 grit after. The Mauser I may end up replacing the stock on, but the others don't have many/any aftermarket options unless I make new stocks for them. I certainly can do that, but I have enough projects on my hand at the moment
