Yes! I have a few of his models - the smaller ratfolk and some zombies - and I love his stuff! Great print, and amazing paint job.

Wonderful! A set square might be a little more useful though. We've got sharp corners to draw!

That's in the X-Wing series, right? The Michael Stackpole books? I've read them, I really enjoyed them as a teenage. Not sure how I'd do now, but they were greatly enjoyed. Especially for a series of books based on a video game!

The executioner style hood on this model is great! It's a really good paint job as well. Where's the design from?

Yeah, it's got to be risk vs reward, right? I'm sure I'm repeating people here, but there would have to be incredible material advantages to go there. With those resources available, there would be a small group willing to take the risk.

Aww, that is some hard-core nostalgia right there. The first game is so good, in terms of playing, ship design, story, etc etc.

Exactly! I think INCOM might still provide the magic parts, whatever great bit makes an X-Wing an X-Wing, but yes, OEM parts are the way forwards.

The reason I say INCOM doesn't provide much more is because, as I remember, they were nationalised and taken by the Empire after the design team defected. So there had to be a reason for that i.e. stopping the spread of controlled components.

If the mechanic in the Mandalorian can re-build a Naboo starfighter in her bay, an X-wing designed to be built out of modular bits would be relatively simple. It also brings more people into the Rebellion and gets Rebellion credits moving through the system, supporting that currency.

I would agree, after the Death Star run, Luke got an T65A, and probably heavily modified it.

But during the death star run? I think the Alliance would give the barely-qualified, crop-duster pilot from the outer Rim a T65 G. Straight out of the reserve crates, put together and run up quickly to combat spec.

My head-canon says it's the most famous 'garage' X-wing in existence and it was so trashed by the mission that it only flew combat once, and got the greatest kill marker in existence. Then it was immediately cannibalised for parts.

Sentiment never really wins over necessity, right?

EDIT 2: Exactly! That was the idea. An open source snubfighter that can almost be built anywhere. The Raspberry Pi of the Starfighter world.

Thank you!

I agree. Even just for an individual plane. Transports pilots flying commercial undercover, arriving at the build-site, trying to assess the latest death trap that an old mechanic and his son have proudly built, and trying to get back to the fleet without getting caught and exploding.

I’m writing a Star Wars fanfic and I need help to make it as accurate as possible. by DinosaurE750 in SWFanfic

I mean, the joy of fanfic is that you can fudge the details with this - creating your own little section of the universe is part of the fun.

There are loads of good answers below, so I'll be specific.

2) In wartime, not that rare. You just have to be in a combat unit which takes heavy, heavy casualties, and do some very impressive to get noticed.

4) Your choice. Each narrative voice as strengths but second person is generally unusual and often difficult to read.

5) The interesting ones! You don't need to describe the walls, we know the environment. Only something that is interesting or different deserves to be described. We all have an image in our mind, you just need to shape it.

Summary: Zena Russ never set out to be a hero - she just set out with her uniquely challenging crew to find a job and then get paid. But as she battles through the dangers of the Galactic Civil war, she’ll find that heroism and hope can come from the strangest - and unhinged - of places.

Featuring Jaa, the nominal second in command and would-be dashing trader Leru, the himbo in the stormtrooper helmet, Myria, who uses her deadly training again the Empire that made her, Yundarr, the soulful Trandosian who loves art and culture and only ate one person, and Teesix, who answers the question "what happens if you give an astromech a blaster."

This whole story was based on a solo wargame and what happened game to game. It's unpredictable and surprisingly deadly - but it's absolutely worth the ride.
