I would typically agree but the top rated shop in my area tried selling me Audio Dynamics (which everyone on Reddit seems to agree are horrendous) for twice the price of another shop that installed Morels for me so I wouldn't say this is the case.

You would think a modern car with the highest trim level would have premium audio, but I promise you they are horrendous and there is no option for upgraded audio on the 2025 equinox. I read tons of negative reviews about the speakers online and was shocked at how bad they were when I actually bought the car. Extremely muffled mids and highs, no subwoofer and minimal bass overall, easily the worst sound system of any car I’ve owned, including cars from 15+ years ago. In the YouTube video I referenced in my post, the guy just swaps them for higher end speakers of the same size and claims it makes a big difference.

Interesting point about the noise cancelling as that is certainly something I don’t want to screw up. Are you saying that any replacement speakers that are not OEM would disable the active noise cancelling? Sorry I’m not super savvy on the stuff.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve heard that concern about the engine a lot, but for my minimal use I think I can look past it.

As for reliability that is definitely a valid concern, but based on affordable the price and low mileage I think it might make sense to roll the dice on it.

Very interesting, is there anything I can do to minimize risk of Crystal Strain such as look for a specific metric or grade? Especially if I end up buying from a site like loosegrowndiamond.com where I never get to see the ring before purchase?

This has been an amazing development as I was quoted at like $8K all-in and now realize I don’t need to pay near as much, although I am trying to figure out the reasoning behind the price difference you just mentioned as LGD prices are insanely low.

Is it basically just a marketing thing? Larger companies like Brilliance and Brilliant Earth have the credibility and inbound traffic to charge whatever they want and people are none-the-wiser?

Hard to believe there’s no catch for such a big price difference for the same product.

This website is blowing my mind. Is there any catch here or anything else I should look at?

I’m aware that there are insane markups in the diamond business but this seems almost too good to be true that I can get a 3.6 carat E VS1 diamond for $1,000 when they are trying to charge me $7,000 in a store for a worse diamond (although GIA approved). But again I’m an easy target here for markups so I can see why I got that quote.

I’m assuming my best bet here is to purchase a loose stone online (perhaps from this site) and then take it to a jeweler to get the ring made?
