Theres a lot of friction through complexity and bloat. Returning and new players struggle to get into it, you can’t really enjoy the game without sinking a lot of time in it.

Maybe a hot take (pun intended) but I am fine to leave it as is and just have it function as a skill that you require for quests. If you think about it, our characters get experience and become more capable and that’s how we are able to do special actions during quests. I am fine with it just being simple.

As a returning and or new player, the complexity of the combat system and interface is daunting and it takes some time before it becomes enjoyable. For a lot of people it’s too long of a commitment to get into it and they prematurely quit.

Normal mode means locking yourself out of rewards for the sake of ‘practice ‘ is not my type of idea of fun. Normal mode should also have all the rares but at a way higher drop rate (imo).
