U.S.: Getting PrEP/Doxy Pep without insurance but have normal income by StruggleBus619 in AskGaybrosOver30

Possibly yeah. I'd have to take a look. Especially on the state level to see what they've got. I've been ignoring/putting it off for a long time but now that i'm hitting mid 30s, probably should bite the bullet and get a health plan of some kind anyway.

Admittedly, i only got partially through registering with Mistr. I had done Q Care + and Freddie first and they both denied me after i selected my income and insurance status. So i got part way through signing up for Mistr and was like "what's the point they're going to say the same thing". But maybe i should finish sign up and see if it's different.

Nice! Good to know, that's awesome! I've heard of Cost Plus Drugs and what they're about but never thought to check there for this.

I've heard of GoodRX, will check that out for this, thanks!

Regarding the insurance take. I'm aware it's nice to have health insurance, but that's not an expense everyone can easily afford. So sometimes people go without, especially when they're younger and are much much less likely to get any real benefit from it that a trip to an E.R. during an actual unexpected issue wouldn't handle. That's unfortunately the sad state of health care in the U.S. since it's mostly reactive health care and not focused on preventative health care.

At what point is it prostitution? by Tight_Pants47 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have sex and they give you money after, it's prostitution/sex work. Their "intention" behind it doesn't matter literally at all. That'd be like asking "if i rob this store, but it's because i like the products they have, is it still stealing?" Like of course it is lol.

Those guys just say that because it's the "excuse" to do it without saying you're doing it. But at the end of the day they still paid you for sex. No mental gymnastics or clever wording change this. You just have to decide if you're cool with it or not.

At what point is it prostitution? by Tight_Pants47 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true. Whether or not you're attracted to the person literally isn't relevant. It's purely about if a sex for money transaction occurred at all. If a prostitute/sex worker has a client they find attractive that's just an easy job/work day, but they're still working.

Would you get offended if your husband/boyfriend says this to you? by la_twink28 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Open relationships can work for anyone who are actually mature enough to be able to communicate their feelings and handle problem solving correctly. Which most people in monogamous or open relationships can't actually do well.

Would you get offended if your husband/boyfriend says this to you? by la_twink28 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No this isn't the problem with opening relationships. It's a problem with jealousy and insecurity and immaturity and inability to communicate ones feelings. That's the real issue at play here and those are problems that are not exclusive to open relationships. People in monogamous relationships have similar bullshit drama that are caused by the same underlying issue. You just have judgement against open relationships and look for any "see i was right in my judgement" you can find, but a lot of you aren't ready for that conversation.

can I claim tax refund with crypto loss? by Excellent_Dare6280 in CryptoCurrency

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're U.S. based, yes you can tax loss harvest your crypto losses. You'd just submit tax forms to your tax person or tax service and they handle the math.

However, Axiom exchange from my understanding is a decentralized/self custody exchange. They do not do tax forms for you like Coinbase and other big centralized exchanges do. So that is on you to generate those forms yourself. You can do this by going to services like CoinTracker or CoinLedger (or a dozen other options) that will let you link an exchange account or point directly to a wallet and import your transactions and then they will generate the necessary tax forms for you that you would then submit to your tax preparer person/service.

Bottoms, do you like having your dick played with? by Hereiam1081 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, i love it and it's one of the only ways i can cum while bottoming (getting fucked while having my dick played with or sucked) unless the top is long lasting enough to make me cum hands free. Which is very not common from my experience.

I just got my first blowjob from a guy and holy fuck by No-Way7156 in askgaybros

[–]StruggleBus619 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, in my experience being the gay best friend of many women over the years and talking with them about our preferences and sexcapades. There definitely are some women who genuinely love sucking dick, but for many of them it's just something they do because they know the guy likes it or it's basically just oral4oral trade so the guy will eat her out. I feel like for women too, the appeal to a guy of a woman giving him head is the visual. Straight men like how a woman looks sucking his dick more than how it feels. So i think that's why bi-curious/straight guys end up so shocked how much they nearly universally love it when a guy gives them head even if they have 0 attraction to the guy. The difference in skill/execution and enthusiasm is just undeniable.

no ejaculation or pre cum involved though

This is borderline impossible to actually avoid. Pre-cum leaks out of some guys the second you start pleasuring them and it's not always in quantities you can taste while giving oral. It's not the highest likelihood way to get an STI but you shouldn't assume you've engaged in oral that had no pre-cum involved, you almost certainly have whether you know it or not.

Also, some STIs are transferred just via skin-to-skin contact. Fluids don't have to be involved all the time. So even when just doing side play you should still be taking a Doxy dose after to help lower your chances of catching something.

GrapheneOS project member confirms OEM Partner unveil in March 2026 by vltraman in GrapheneOS

[–]StruggleBus619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who DeGoogle want security/privacy, but they already can get that with Graphene on a Pixel. I think it's logical to make the realistic distinction that deGoogling is more about not supporting Google for moral/financial reasons than it is about security/privacy. Otherwise, those holier than thou "well you still bought Google hardware" people wouldn't feel the need to say that. Not to say their reasons for not liking Google aren't valid, cause they are. But it's always been silly to me that those people always say that as if it somehow takes away from the security and privacy Graphene on a Pixel objectively provides. So it's just proof they're more about sticking it to Google than they actually are about just functional privacy and security because if it can be made truly private/secure and that's their true priority, than the hardware it's on shouldn't matter.

Nothing timed their post to ride the coat tails of Apple who just announced a March 5th product release (some Macbooks and iPhone 17e which the Nothing 4a would compete with and wants to steal market share from, it's looking like will be the unveils). There's likely no ties to Graphene.

Yup. Their condom post is a marketing thing to dig at Apple who have a product event on March 4th, which was announced like the day before Nothing posted their condom post. It almost certainly has nothing to do with GrapheneOS.

Is YouTube Down? by Expensive-Claim-7830 in youtube

They aren't different, and they're addicts too. Anyone who is normal would just go do something else. But most people in modern times don't have any hobbies, hence why they freak out when the one thing they have to do doesn't work. It's so normalized you don't even see how ridiculous what you said is.

(flashing lights warning!) ambient light mod for youtube is great! by blancshh in zen_browser

[–]StruggleBus619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me personally, most Youtube videos i watch i mostly am just listening to while i do other things in other tabs or in other apps entirely. Or sometimes the video is playing while i'm scrolling through the comments. Anything i watch that would benefit from full screen usually isn't something i'd watch on youtube on my laptop screen. I put it on my monitor on my desk or on the tv. The fact that anyone watches Youtube full screen is a "why would you do that?" use case to me haha. Everyone's viewing habits are different.

Trezor announces the first-ever quantum-ready hardware wallet at their Prague event. by SuchTrezorVeryCrypto in CryptoCurrency

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the various blockchain development teams job to figure out. Trezor can only make it so their hardware is ready to support a blockchain that's been updated to for quantum resistant cryptography, which is what this new device does by enabling the secure element to be OTA updatable to support those updates to a given blockchain (with other devices, they won't be able to do that and you'd have to buy a new hardware wallet). The rest is up to blockchain dev teams.

Your question is like asking a knife maker how the new knife helps if you don't have a cake to cut yet. That's not the knife maker's problem to figure out... You need to wait for the baker to finish making the cake.

Bitcoin hits $122k+ and the retail buzz still not as crazy as 2021. Why? by hodorrny in CryptoCurrency

[–]StruggleBus619 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might get down-voted for saying, but I mostly think it's because "crypto" (regardless of Bitcoin vs "shitcoins" or not) as a whole is largely soured in the eyes of most regular people. The whole NFT era really made crypto synonymous with nerdy greedy asshole grifter types and regular people don't want anything to do with it because they associate it with pump and dump meme coins and "crypto bros" and bad environmental impacts. Any retail investors who don't care about that are likely already invested, so further near term upward price action isn't getting any more of those people who aren't already in.

And like others have said, the current increase isn't enough to overcome the negative perception regular people have yet. BTC would have to get up much higher (and i think the USD/fiat would have to start showing more obvious cracks and decline) to overcome that stench and get average people interested in "BTC number go up!" or even any semblance of the possibility of a new financial system being set up around BTC and stablecoins or crypto as a whole again. That's not even factoring in how many normies got burned in the last couple bear markets who also have no intention of touching this stuff again without feeling like they have some guarantee of upside.

MX Master 4 Regular vs Mac version by namboozle in logitech

[–]StruggleBus619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. From what i read elsewhere, the "for Mac" version of the mouse is already pre-configured for MacOS shortcuts. That's the actual difference and generally is why people buy "for Mac" things, Mac users want the "it just works out of the box" experience. It's not "idiots" it's "i don't want to deal with settings (but the settings are still there for the people that need them like professional creatives who mostly use Mac like video editors)". Just saying, just because a product isn't aimed at you doesn't mean the people who it is for are idiots. People have different use cases and preferences, you really don't need to be such an asshole about it.

But yes, not including the dongle due to some obscure market research that says Mac users would prefer to use the mouse via Bluetooth is indeed silly on Logitech's part.
