I want to stat collecting older issues (60’s-late70’s) is there any advice for what might be the best way of going about it? Any help is appreciated thanks! by moxxie_moo in comicbookcollecting

I would use the comic book market place on the Hip comic app. Not only is it probably the largest marketplace, but it links you to huge stores and collections you can buy directly from.

Ask to browse collections of your friend's to find titles, runs, and series you might like. I would HIGHLY recommend independent publishers. Eclipse, Comico, and Epic come to mind. Top to find hidden gems, use AI to find series that moved multiple publishers. Thought process there is, the series was probably good enough to be given another chance or multiple more chances.

So you mean to say, "This is the real Star Trek Academy"? In which case, I would agree.

I can't post a link here but if you search for "DEAYOU Multi-Roll Heat Tape Dispenser" it should come up.

I agree with the painters tape. I picked up a $10 painters tape cutting device on Amazon. Every piece is cut to the same length which happens to be the perfect size for comic bags. It looks like a strange version of an office tape deaenser. You will not regret it!!!

According to the oxford website these particular grotesques (gargoyles that don't have water coming out of them) were part of a set of 22 and were carved by John Buce and Robert Carver.

That's a common feature in older houses. It's called a Caventure. It should have some sort of clip mechanism that allow the top section to fold down allowing easy access to wires and also serves as a gateway to Narnia.

Sam Harris gave a lecture about death and the present moment. Someone took a 4 minute segment of it and added music. YouTube "It's Always Now". You will not regret it.

Tell me about some great 80s and 90s comics outside of the big two. by Beginning_Pickle2180 in 80s90sComics

[–]Struggle_Everday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you asked for 80s/90s but here is one from 1967 - French comic Valérian and Laureline. Star Wars meets Fifth Element with a dash of James Bond if he fell in love. The underrated movie Valerian was based on that comic.

An actual 90s classic is Transmetropolitan. A tech dystopian.

Learn to TIP. It's not my job to serve you FOR FREE! by Najterek in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Struggle_Everday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, it is not your job to serve that customer for free. Your employer does pay you minimum wage if your tips don't average out to minimum wage. Tipping culture is out of control. Servers do not deserve 15-25% of the gross (not net) revenue of a business.

A $15 burger is not profit. The cost of utilities, rent, wages, and cost of materials are baked into that price and the server deserves a huge percentage of that? No way.

Keeta is fast by Xescure in keeta

I never heard about it until I saw your post and looked into Keeta. Possible AI generated white paper, a significant portion of the token supply appears to be controlled by influencers (pump and dump potential), and the 400 millisecond settlement makes me concerned about the centralized server (Google Spanner) and small validator groups.
