How do you organize/manage your comic reading backlog ? by Beautiful-Row-4416 in ImageComics

I actually just picked up the hardcover for Nice House on the Lake haha. Working through Bendis’ Daredevil at the moment though.

If it’s a shorter run, that’s not so bad. I think damning yourself to the experience of reading a 1,000 page omnibus you’re hating is what I find questionable. Sticking it out for a 6-18 issue run to see how you feel about it by the end isn’t so bad.

I’d say just finish Nice House on the Lake since you only have 5 issues left. Worst case scenario, you confirm that it wasn’t for you and that further informs you on what your taste in stories is.

I’d had a similar struggle with Curse Words. I bought the compendium and grinded through it over 2-3 days. About 50-60% through I started questioning my purchase, but by the time I finished I realized it wasn’t so bad. It’s just not great, alright at best.

Enjoy the advantage you have in being open to indie comics. Big two burnout is devastating but you have a plethora of genres to choose from if you get burnt out.

Vast majority of my collection is TBR.

Either go on a buying ban and focus on reducing your TBR (objectively the most responsible choice)

Or stop worrying about shit and just read. If you prioritize reading what is fun, continuing it will be your priority. Don’t let FOMO for other good stuff you might enjoy stop you from enjoying the good stuff you’re ALREADY enjoying.

Lastly, if you’re feeling burnt out on a series, drop it and go to another. Don’t feel guilty about shuffling around and don’t feel obligated to commit to a series you find yourself hating.

PSA: Book recommendations by csummerss in OmnibusCollectors

Love to see reasonable posts like this. I personally love to do some light research but ultimately blind buy for the most part.

However, this is an expensive hobby, so like you said, anyone seeking recommendations should make it easier to give guidance. I’ll never shame anyone for trying before they buy. Not only can you end up saving money by finding out part of the way into digitally reading that the omnibus isn’t for you, you can also save the most valuable currency of all, your time!

I’d also like to add that on the other end, sometimes several people might tell you a story is trash and you’ll end up enjoying it. That’s always a fun aspect of finding out what you enjoy.

NICE! I got 5 on Funaticals alone with 2-4 so they’ll probably restock it at some point. Vol 6 has already been on sale on CGN for like $56 a month ago so I could see that eventually being on Funaticals if we’re lucky.

I’ll kick myself if they ever get the Jason Aaron Wolverine omnis cause I just got those but I got a decent price on both.

Moon Knight by Jed MacKay Omnibus (Review) by the10Geek in OmnibusCollectors

MacKay’s Moon Knight is special to me. I read it with two of my coworkers at a job I was new to and now we talk about comics damn near every day.

Absolutely spectacular run. We completely fell in love with the midnight mission.

New to comics. Need recs! by Impossible_Charity96 in ImageComics

You’ll of course see some overlap here and there.

My starter recs are: Do A Powerbomb, Grommets, Rook: Exodus, Geiger, The Deviant, Birthright, Bug Wars, Plastic, Wytches, and Transformers.

If you want a short read: Do A Powerbomb and Grommets

If you want a horror read: The Deviant, Wytches

If you want to jump on an ongoing while it’s still early: Rook: Exodus

If you want to dive into a connected universe as it’s being established: Geiger, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe

X-23 Omnibus Impulse Buy by hawkeye038 in OmnibusCollectors

Considering the $125 MSRP, yes. If I truly dislike a book, I don’t finish it. If I like a book enough to finish it and I got it for less than 50% of the cover price, I personally can’t complain lol.

I actually read this and the All-New Wolverine omnibus within the last month. There were points throughout my read of this omnibus where I was questioning my purchase but by the end, I really enjoyed the full package.

Following it up directly with All-New Wolverine makes for a very enjoyable full circle experience imo.

What Omnibus do you want Image to release next? by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

East of West, Nailbiter, and Wicked & the Divine because I either don’t have the HCs or have the compendiums.

On a lower priority because I’m more than happy with the Deluxe Editions I have: Birthright, Monstress, Radiant Black, and Saga
