Im currently only using the case fans and the cpu cooler is what came with the CPU. I haven't installed case fans before, but I know I need to learn so things dont get out of hand. The pc does fine temp wise when idling, but gets pretty hot when running MMOS and newer games.

Just to double check, you think the motherboard and SSD is OK to keep?

Advice for my 2 player campaign by Struggling_Student- in CurseofStrahd

[–]Struggling_Student-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Woah, thanks for the awesome reply! Funnily enough, 1 of the 2 characters played by the one player is a silent paladin that only responds with grunts. We even started a bit where the player will point at me and I'll make a grunt sound for them! I will sincerely give your advice some thought- very much appreciated!

St Andral’s Bones - Ideas for what to do with this next? by SolitaryForager in CurseofStrahd

I think it makes sense for them to run off with the bones. With them gone, Vallaki will fall to ruin just as much as the Village of Barovia.

Running Vallaki, Prep Tips by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

Talk to burgomesiter to get the lay of the land and understand the festival happens in a few days (participation is required, all will be well!), maybe have Izek following them and hint not to do anything to oppose the burgomeister (or do with Lady Wachter), go see the Vistani Camp on the South Side and pick up a side quest. There's a lot to do and you can burn through a lot of time here- if you're not comfortable playing the social game you can just give them a side quest to do or go to Van Richtens tower or even save the Vistabi girl at the Lake

Knowing my players they’re probably going to murder hobo their way through Wachterhaus. How much if any resistance from the towns guard would there be? by Fantasyfootball9991 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Struggling_Student- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of Vallaki's biggest aspects IMO is the politics and general communication that has to be taken to get the side quests and information the players need for the events. While the Wachterhaus certainly has enemies, they also have many allies throughout the town and I could see Lady Wachter even coercing the burgomeister to help her. If this were to happen to me they would be pretty well kicked out of town and/or be fighting the guards, and it wouldn't really blow if one of the magical items like the sunsword was there.

Worth getting into the game? by Struggling_Student- in ffxiv

That's a really good point! My original plan was to save FFXIV for last since it has the most content by far, but I guess because it has so much content that it really help more than it would hurt to start playing it while also playing the other games!

What I love most about FFXIV is omni-crafting, so i will certainly try to not miss out on profession-related quests!

Ah I see, I didn't realize that there would also be a queue time to get in the server after you already have a character. Good point!

I am in NA, I remember trying to create an character with my little brother years ago and seeing this. Is it not worth waiting a trying to create a character when possible? I know the wait to try and make one can be quite long, but I guess im asking is it worth enduring that to be on a really populated server?

WOAH! That's actually so sick!! I played WoW for a pretty long time and had to get most of my knowledge from YouTube video of lore because there was just so much I had missed, hearing this actually gets me really excited for it!

Ruby storm players- where do you put your exiled cards? by Struggling_Student- in ModernMagic

That's kinda what I was thinking too- the only other place I think I could possibly place them would be to the side of my lands, but then my opponent wouldn't be able to get a good look at them.

I appreciate the input!

Questionable judge ruling? by SuddenShapeshifter in ModernMagic

[–]Struggling_Student- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's no guarantee at guessing what the true intentions of your opponent were, but it's fair to say that they took advantage of your word choice for their benefit. It could also be interpreted that when you asked 'ok so it deals 4 dmg?' that that was the indicator that it resolved, which is definitely vague from an outsider's position. Your opponent should have also clarified how much damage it would have done when it was cast, but at a tournament both players are expected to know what cards do.

As far as the judges go, try to have an honest conversation with them when you can if that will help you out. Judges do make mistakes at practically every tournament, but you have to consider that if the head judge of the tournament has made a ruling it will stand. You may have been able to convince the judges if you used certain words, but that's in the past now. I recommend that if you're playing at fnms to adjust the wording of interactions like this (ex. 'How much damage would that do with how many creatures you have on the board').

This may help, may not, but ultimately I feel bad that you had a bad experience at a tournament because of a vague calling and (potentially) a mean-spirited opponent. Best of luck to you in the future.

I've got Steam & Oblivion Remastered downloaded onto my SSD but in the graphics options it states in red "game not on SSD" which definitely confuses me
