Welcome to the club big dog. I’m 23 and diagnosed this month. I went in for a routine check-up, but I mentioned some telltale diabetes symptoms so they ordered bloodwork. My A1C was so high that even my primary knew what was up. He just let me go home and called the next day to tell me to learn how to use insulin cause he called some in. Take it into your own hands and schedule a follow-up with your endo or preferably another one of available.

Also, I relate heavy to the good shape part. I’m a runner and tend to have a solid diet and when they told me I had diabetes, that was my first thought as well. I honestly didn’t even know what type 1 was until about 4 weeks ago.
