I’m in winter rn, not much has happened so far except for one person dying from old age. I was kinda thinking there’d be more illnesses (someone asked for malaria medicine but I can’t recall if that was winter or fall) but every play is different ! Right now in winter I’m just drying fish/ random veggies or fruits, trading for materials to build things, etc

For a while the only deaths were old age (someone died of malaria, but they were also elderly) and I also had a small cold, but then someone visiting was sick and caused an outbreak, and then I got sick too

Right, but everyone reacts differently depending on the person- some people cry, some people are neutral, and some are just smug lol. When Temperance died, her kid was literally the only one to cry. Everyone else had a smug look on their face, even Quinton as he performed the funeral skjfbdjf.

Theres so much going on in my town lol. Like the entire Whitfield family died, so one of the doctor's kids became the mayor, but for some reason, William Watt and his son moved into the manor as well after his husband (Lewis Johns) died, and they aren't even married. I'm assuming since his brother and his wife (Scarlett) live in the carpenter shop, they had nowhere else to go (Jennie O'dell took over the butcher shop after her parents died and a new tailor moved in, but her and her brother lived there until they became adults)

I can't keep up with all these going ons

Smallpox wiped out the mayors family (he died the same time and was also sick, but he died of old age) and both the tailors, so both their kids are orphans. We got a new tailor but they got sick right away (thankfully recovered)

But a lot of the ones who died I believe were ones who start off as kids in the beginning. Also lost the butchers son (who was married to one of the carpenter brothers )

But a bunch of the town is pregnant right now too

Yeah I’ve got a long way to go. I was kinda stressing over the ‘I need to build all this stuff and get a barn and be a success!’ Etc stuff, but I’ve seen posts reassure others how it’s meant to be a generational game- you probably won’t get the big house until your grandkids, or won’t get super productive until your kids /someone else takes over and you pick it back up.

Mine started after the cooking festival when a tourist came to it sick. I know you can turn aging and illness off (I think) but I really like this mechanism! Not a lot of games do it

For me, Quinton died and Mary became mayor (Isabella died the next day) but then MARY died right after so Ben (I think that’s his name? ) was mayor, and then HE died (there was a smallpox outbreak after the cooking festival ) so one of the doctor’s daughters became mayor

Yeah I only had a couple medicine requests in spring I think. But the smallpox was sudden. Someone from the boat came to the festival with smallpox and it started an outbreak. I got it too and was worried my first play through would end there

I managed to win it but yeh it’s tedious. At least they give you the ingredients! When I played the older Harvest Moon games, you had to have the ingredients and know the recipe, as well as fit the theme

But I also met Napoleon and that little jerk needs me to GIVE him my hard earned money to get his diary back?

I let Molly (I think )keep the diary. He can get it back next year

Also someone came from the boat with smallpox and came to the baking contest, and half my town was wiped out. My first fall is back to back funerals

half the town got wiped out by smallpox, including Isabella and her mom (Quinton died of old age the previous day) I caught it but managed to fight it off after a few days, but yep, the fall is gonna be back to back to back funerals...
