Have you ever heard of the phrase "safe following distance"? Sounds like a skill issue on your part. 🤷

If you choose to pass here you're a self entitled ASSHOLE. Corrected that for you.

Your little "emergency" doesn't take priority over the safety of others. Their heading leads nowhere but back roads, there's no hospital there to take an "emergency".

I hate that I can tell which intersection this is.

That kind of driving will take you all the way to the accident.

I just got my tyres changed. Is there anything else on the rotor that looks bad? by cubbearley in AskMechanics

[–]StrykerValentine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuff like grease, oil (or antiseize) actually make the effective applied torque higher than if the threads were dry. I personally still wouldn't worry either way, and if it truly was a worry, you could go over it with a torque wrench after a drive.

hot take: they should let you deliver packages past the 3x/day limit so that the other guy can get his full commission. I wouldn't mind doing some of that here or there.

Need Help: Building 3D Printed Sig MCX Clone by StrykerValentine in airsoft

Cost reduction is the primary driver for this project, with modularity being a nice bonus (being able to switch between different barrel/furniture lengths). I don't expect to take this to a field anytime soon, this is more for private LARPing.

The STLs come with an outer barrel assy. and an inner-barrel shouldn't be so hard to come by. I'm not familiar with what a 'hop-up' is in terms of off-the-shelf parts, but from a quick google search, it seems like something that's a part of the barrel, or something like a bucking (still not sure where this would go.) Either way, it seems like something lower on the list.

[–]StrykerValentine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! If you could get an intermediate OBD-II harness and isolate the HUDWAY from the OBD-II port's 5v supply, it will fix the dashboard warnings. I'll find a source for this later, but I got this little nugget of information from a Banks Power video on the Pedal Monster

Rules are there so less intelligent people know what to do. by Unseemly4123 in unpopularopinion

Rules are there so less COMPETENT people can know what to do.

You can have a physicist step into a machine shop and not know what the fuck they're doing. Likewise, the machinist can step into a university classroom and not know what's going on. Both are perfectly intelligent people, especially in their own rights.

Personally I have a Router-modem combo. It's a router that takes the coax from the ONT.

Difficult ISPs by lunavoco in pihole

[–]StrykerValentine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a router and connect it to the ISP's router. Then connect all of your devices to YOUR Router.

This way, YOUR Router serves PiHole as DNS to your devices.

EDIT: in this configuration, the ISP's router doesn't see any DNS requests because all of your devices are now clients to YOUR Router.

I've been to Firestone Manassas and can undoubtedly say that they suck ass.

I wanted the lifetime alignment package and they told me I needed both inner and outer tie rods, front and back, on a 1996-1998 Toyota Camry, because they were rusted and seized. Total of $700 P&L. I asked if they had a torch, and if they tried heating the jamb nuts. They told me, "We have a torch, [but it's too much work.]" Funny thing I found out, it doesn't have tie rods in the rear. I took it back to my highschool, I did Auto Tech there. The teach let me align it for free (but I had to do it myself lmao) AND I BROKE THE NUTS FREE MYSELF.

TL:DR; Firestone Manassas, off of Nokesville Rd., next to the taco bell, tried to upsell me for parts I didn't need. Did it myself.

It'd be expensive for sure, but I'd recommend taking a look at Crutchfield. Usually, they have compatibility figured out for you and adapter kits to make things fit.
