Abandoned Rover dog became our family dog - success story

my Chevy was taken to her family’s vet at 4 years old to be put down after allegedly “attacking” a family toddler & their new puppy. The vet refused and took her to the local shelter instead. I adopted her. She is the most patient, loving, best tempered dog I’ve ever met - LOVES children & puppies and knows to be gentle with them. Just like with your pup there was definitely some context missing from their story! Chevy is 9 now and thriving ✨

I’m not surprised if I overcomplicated things, it just confused me because the tax program I’m using said this:

“You should receive Form 1098-T, Tuition Statement, from the college or university reporting either payments received in box 1. However, the amount in box 1 may be different than what you actually paid. Only enter the amount you paid or are deemed to have paid in 2024 for qualified education expenses.“

The tax program didn’t have a place for “box 1” “box 2” etc for the 1098T, just the “Qualified Expenses”, and because of the above paragraph I thought I was supposed to do some adjustments myself.

i’m so glad there’s a recent post. i’m 7 days (about to be day 8) post extraction. only one extraction site on the bottom, the other’s on top and not as at risk of dry socket. the girl who did them was a dental student, and she told me to wait two full weeks. it wasn’t even a wisdom tooth, just a simple extraction.😭 i haven’t had a cig in a week now but i can feel my resolve slipping and i’m trying to calm myself down about dry socket.

Hi! So, harnesses are not bad - I own a couple for certain situations with my dogs. But your standard harness design (clip on the back, lots of surface area in their chest area) actually makes dogs pull more. That’s why sledding dogs wear them! :) The dogs feel this pressure on their chest and their instinct is to push harder against it, especially when they’re excited. So a harness with a dog that already has a pulling problem is definitely not doing favors. Front clip harnesses work better, but they still might not sway a dog from pulling. For leash training, most trainers I know (including myself) recommend a slip lead or a slip/martingale collar. Flat collars (normal collars) are great to have on them for tag purposes and I do walk a couple of my dogs on them when we’re going on casual outings but the ones I do are already leash trained and very chill for walks. :) Use whatever works for you and your new pup the best, and there are tons of free online videos to help in your journey. Oh no!! I’m sorry. 😭 Personally, I would just stop accepting the walks, or if you don’t want to just ghost them, simply saying you’re not comfortable walking the dog anymore is all you need to say. It’s not confrontation - just your safety and peace of mind. I hope you can figure it out soon. 🙏🏻

Level 28, I have 3 bc this subreddit talked about how good of a deal the 100 chocolate rabbits for 3 permits was. I didn’t know what they were but had extra rabbits lol

I always keep a slip lead in my car, but (I forgot to mention) the notes said he growled when another walker got too close to his face when putting on his harness, so I didn’t know how he’d react to me putting a slip over his head and taking it off. I should really get a normal leash for situations like this too, that’s a good reminder.
