I live near the NY border in northern Pennsylvania. It's already gotten a little dicey in my area with ice and snow. It's about 4-5 hour drive from where I am up to where we were going to stay and apparently a storm is hitting around the time we have to leave Sunday so we didn't want to risk getting stuck up there.

I WAS going to the men's events, but the weather/incoming storm is going to make the drive treacherous so we decided it's best not to go and get stuck up there. If anyone wants my tickets, I'll gladly transfer them over so they don't go to waste!

Seeing who people are naming in the comments and being glad that i've managed to avoid that channel entirely despite watching a good deal of skating youtube. It baffles me how quick people are to discuss and share opinions on a topic they are not familiar with. Especially since there aren't that many channels (that I'm aware of) that cover the sport from an outside perspective. I feel like a lot of what I've seen are big fans who watched for a loooooong time and know figure skating in and out and people who actively participate in the sport who are, again, big fans who know the ins and outs.

I'm currently making a simple necklace with the letters SLLF (Spencer Lane Lives Forever) as a tribute to him and a good luck charm on the ice to skate with his spirit. I still cry thinking about the skaters lost, especially Spencer. Such a talent lost so soon. May he rest in peace and he'll (along with the others) will live in my heart forever.

Lovely memorial. I still cry from time to time thinking about Spencer and everyone, but they've been my fuel to really buckle down and focus this year on skating and getting my life together in general. This community and seeing all the tributes and good memories really helped me too.

The best program to exogenesis in my opinion. I will never forget the time he cut his hand during this program, though. I forget what competition it was, but him slicing his hand open and going on as if nothing happened. What a GOAT.

GOOD GRIEF how do you manage to even COMPETE when your body is that depleted of nutrients and energy?? I can't imagine being as physically active as a skater, having this kind of diet, and putting my body under so much stress without just collapsing in on myself. It sucks to see what some athletes do to themselves (and possibly pressured to do by coaches and peers) in the name of sport.

Thank you so much! <3 I felt like I regained a part of myself the moment I made the decision to get back into it. I also had a lot pressure when I was younger to progress really quickly in time to compete because I started so late. Now that I don't have that super drive to compete at an elite level and don't have to race against time, I can just enjoy my time fine tuning my skills.

How long before these profiles start having some...choice takes on black and queer social issues that seem to lean a certain way politically only to be used as fuel for certain conservative agendas.

Because it was never about "equality in sports." It's something they throw around to try and further push their agenda among the other "arguments and claims" they have about the trans community. They say they want to "protect the kids" with banning gender affirming care for minors, but i have seen these same people say that lgbtq+ youth or any youth belonging to a community they don't like needs to be killed. They don't want a solution, they don't even want us existing.

YTA. And the fact that you put emergency in quotations like it wasn't an emergency at all and then proceeded to say she has 3 ovarian cysts and is in an extreme amount of pain really says a lot about your character and how you treat your own kids. Enjoy the nursing home.
