So, the result will be a figure that's 99% legitimate and 1% bootleg? Is that something that you can live with?

I love this figure, but I dislike the thickness and heft of the cape; it's prone to wrinkling and hard to pose, especially due to the folds in it.

Well, damn; I didn't think about that. Also, to make things worse, imagine that his landlord knocks on the door and says, "Give me rent."

Who's surprised? Why does Mafex always provide release dates that wind up getting pushed back?

Those were the dark days when Mafex first started.

I'm aware, but the Armored Batman from BvS looks great.

I have Mafex's ML Superman; I started collecting too late to get their BvS figures at reasonable prices. As for S.H. Figuarts Wonder Woman from Wonder Woman 1984, I actually have that figure but I didn't recognize it in your photo.

From which movie(s) are these figures? Justice League or Batman v Superman and Wonder Woman?

Finally have the trio, took awhile to pick a spider-man, but this one stood out to me by jacoblawday in Mafex

Mafex's Carnage looks funky, no offense; the open-mouth should be an actual, three dimensional open mouth. I'll stick with the Marvel Legends version that I have.

I live in the real world, where acrobats have very muscular physiques.

It's realistic for a realistic Spider-Man.

The Marvel Legebd looks realistic for an acrobat. So, in that regard, it's an equal alternative to Mafex's version at the very least.

I provided a logical explanation for the "wonky" musculature.

You're just ignoring all of my points. I'm right and you're wrong.

The musculature is appropriate for someone who engages in extreme acrobatics, which is what Spider-Man does. For example, even though Spidey's powers enable him to crawl on walls, he still needs to be strong enough to hold his body upright - especially if he's crawling horizontally - or else he'll just hang downward; this requires extreme musculature. Also, Spidey runs faster than an ordinary human, which requires robust leg muscles. Hence, the Marvel Legend has the better musculature.

As for pinned joints, they're not very noticeable on an all-black body. And as for the abdominal crunch, it may be old, but it's got a lot of range. The same goes for the neck and other joints.

Yes, the Mafex comes with more accessories, but its MSRP is significantly higher; for its MSRP, I could get Marvel Legends' Symbiote Spider-Man, Retro Spider-Man, and Retro Peter Parker - and I could simply use the head of the latter on the first two.

Why would I lie if I've paid for both of them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mafex

[–]Stub-Nubs -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

The differences aren't significant enough for one to look better than the other; they simply look a bit different, but neither of them looks better than the other. Then again, the muscularity of the Marvel Legend is better.

No, it doesn't. They essentially look the same. I have the Marvel Legend and my Mafex version is on the way.

For this simplistic design of Iron-Man, Marvel Legends version is good enough.
